The Good, the Bad and the Ugly

I've had more than enough of Manziel and his antics, a little of him has gone a long way.
COLLEGE STATION, Texas (AP) -- Johnny Football and No. 10 Texas A&M's offense dominated as usual against SMU. The difference on Saturday night was that the Aggies defense was solid, too. Johnny Manziel accounted for 346 yards with three touchdowns in just more than a half to help Texas A&M cruise to a 42-13 win over SMU.
Texas A&M (3-1) was up 32-6 at halftime, and Manziel led the Aggies to a touchdown on their first drive of the third quarter before the Heisman Trophy winner went to the bench.

I am a Michigan fan, but did not watch most of this game, anticipated the outcome. Michigan got lucky and intercepted that pass, otherwise, they lost another game to an underdog. It might have done them good.
EAST HARTFORD, Conn. (AP) -- Michigan was making a mess of another game against a heavy underdog, when Desmond Morgan snatched away Connecticut's chance for a huge upset. Morgan's one-handed interception in the fourth quarter swung the game Michigan's way and the 15th-ranked Wolverines dodged another potentially embarrassing loss with a 24-21 victory against UConn on Saturday night. A week after Michigan needed a last-second stand to hold off Akron at the Big House, Brendan Gibbons kicked a 21-yard field goal with 4:36 left to give the Wolverines (4-0) their first lead of the second half.
''We're Michigan. We don't play to everyone else's level and for the last two weeks we have. But we're going to step it up,'' defensive end Frank Clark said.

That was usually the worst weekend of the year for football, and we were promised a terrible weekend of football and we weren't disappointed. The weekends of terrible non-conference games are a thing of the past and we can now move forward with conference play. If there’s one thing we can take from this weekend, it’s that offense reigns supreme. Four teams – Ohio State, Louisville, Baylor and Miami - scored more than 70 points. Seventeen teams scored more than 50 points and 30 teams scored more than 40 points. The increase of offense is a big win for fans who love to watch dazzling scoring plays and amazing runs and catches, but a big loss for defensive coordinators, who are doing all they can just to keep up. Yes, there were good games here and there, but unless you enjoy watching patsies get 70 points dropped on them, this weekend was pretty much a bust.
