Ohio IS Important

COLUMBUS, Ohio — The most politically important state in America, at least in the eyes of the White House, is Ohio. President Obama arrives this weekend for one last rally of the campaign season, his 12th visit since taking office and his second in only two weeks.

But the attention might be as much about Mr. Obama’s own political fortunes as about the 2010 midterm election.

Even as party leaders in Washington leave some vulnerable Democrats to fend for themselves in the final days of the campaign and scramble to shore up incumbents who might be more viable, one candidate is being given particular assistance: Gov. Ted Strickland of Ohio, who is in a difficult battle for re-election.

The reason is not simply that he still has a chance of winning. For Mr. Obama, the fate of Mr. Strickland could be very much tied to his own, since a Republican in the Ohio governor’s seat could make his re-election to the presidency in 2012 that much more complicated.

Ohio is one of nine states where Mr. Obama expanded the Democratic map in the last presidential election, and his advisers believe the electoral votes here are likely to be among the most critical to assure his return to the White House. Republicans do not disagree and have used that argument in the final stages of the midterm election campaign as a motivating factor.

John Kasich, a former Republican congressman who is running for governor, said in an interview on Thursday that “Strickland and Obama have the same philosophy.” He urged voters to think of the implications beyond the governor’s contest and he asked Republican leaders to amplify the point, which Gov. Haley Barbour of Mississippi, the head of the Republican Governors Association, has done in a video message here.

“This election on Nov. 2 is a critical step in determining whether Barack Obama is going to be re-elected president of the United States,” said Mr. Barbour, who is among the Republicans considering running for president. “We can’t wait until 2012 to start taking our country back. We’ve got to win starting this November, and Ohio is the place that we start.”

The Ohio governor’s race also offers a case study for how Democrats will fare for openly embracing the president, a gesture that has become an exception rather than the rule among many of the party’s most endangered candidates. The White House has tried to play a more significant role in races for governor in other battleground states, particularly Florida, but few Democrats have welcomed Mr. Obama as warmly as Mr. Strickland has.

“I don’t think you win elections by running away from your friends,” Mr. Strickland said, pointing to a recovery in the auto industry and construction jobs created by the economic stimulus plan. “Ohio has benefited from the help we’ve received from the president and our Democratic friends in Congress. Why would I want to run away from those accomplishments?”

Ohio began the year as a land of opportunity for Democrats to hold their majority in the House, Senate and in key governorships. It has become a field of uphill battles for candidates, embodying the challenges facing the party across the country. Yet the outsized attention being paid to the governor’s race has only highlighted the disparity among Democratic candidates here.

Representative Steve Driehaus, who represents Ohio’s First Congressional District, was elected in 2008 when Mr. Obama led the ticket. He voted for the key elements of Mr. Obama’s agenda, including the health care overhaul and the economic stimulus package.

This month, Mr. Driehaus became the first Democrat to fall victim to a triage of endangered incumbents by party leaders, which deeply cut his television advertising and dashed any hopes that Mr. Obama would come and help rally voters.

“I am not going to lose sleep over the president being here or not being here,” said Mr. Driehaus, whose district on the state’s southern edge is about 250 miles from Cleveland, where Mr. Obama will visit twice this month. “I think it’s a mistake for him to ignore Cincinnati. Cincinnati was here for him in 2008, but we are going to win with him or without him.”

Republicans believe that they are positioned for a strong finish in Ohio on Tuesday, with the potential to gain as many as five Congressional seats, all of which were claimed by Democrats over the last two election cycles as the party expanded its majority. And Democrats have all but given up on the idea of winning the seat of George V. Voinovich, a Republican senator who is retiring.

The political climate has become so challenging for some Democrats that even Representative Dennis J. Kucinich, a former mayor of Cleveland who represents one of the party’s safest districts, is sufficiently concerned about his re-election that he sent out an urgent appeal this week to supporters, saying, “I need your help.”

The Ohio campaigns have unfolded against the backdrop of persistently high unemployment; the state’s jobless rate of 10 percent in September is higher than the national average of 9.6 percent. There has been no greater issue, particularly in the race for governor, than restoring some of the 400,000 jobs that have been lost here over the last four years.

The contest between Mr. Strickland and Mr. Kasich, which is rated as a tossup by The New York Times and other independent rankings, has become more competitive in the closing days, according to aides to both candidates. Mr. Strickland cut into a lead that Mr. Kasich held over the summer.

The fight for Ohio is now expected to hinge on which side has the better voter-turnout operation. For the Democrats, the weekend visits by Mr. Obama, along with Vice President Joseph R. Biden Jr. and former President Bill Clinton, are a large component of that plan.

“There is nothing that could be done that isn’t being done,” Mr. Strickland said. “These rallies help communicate to people who are my supporters — or who should be my supporters — the importance of this race and the importance of voting.”

As Mr. Kasich traveled across the northeastern corner of Ohio on Thursday, he said the high-profile Democratic visitors had become a motivating force for Republicans, too.

“There’s nothing I can do about it,” Mr. Kasich said. “Biden’s basically been living here and Clinton and Obama are coming back again. They see it as their firewall. They are throwing everything they have at me.”

IMPORTANT - IMPORTANT - IMPORTANT

As we spend time with our friends and families after a long days work, I want to offer an important warning to guard against a late Democratic surge, and IT IS HAPPENING RIGHT NOW don't think it isn't.

Will you contact a few friends and make sure they are going to Remember November?

Only a few days remain.

Reid Loses - Nevada Gone - TinC News

Senator Harry Reid announced today that if his state does not reelect him to the Senate, he will do everything in his power to outlaw gambling in Nevada. He stated further, "If Nancy loses her Speakers position, she is going to resign from the House, and join me in my crusade to take gambling out of the state, we are both very serious about this. After all I have done for this state, if they can't get me reelected I don't want to have anything to do with them, they can turn the whole damn state into a big amusement park for all I care."

"Hell, I even brought in stimulus money by the millions to the casinos, I got a million and a half for a Gamblers Anonymous group so they would have available money for those who "got off the wagon" to blow in the joints, yea, joints, that's what they are, gambling halls, gin joints, bust out houses, call them whatever you want, the ingrates, after all I've done for them," he concluded with.

He and Pelosi have started a Political Action Non-Profit Group, NMCIN (No More Casinos In Nevada) and with their clout have already raised over eighty-five million dollars to run TV ads prior to the election next week. The ads show Nevada as it was in the 30's, a barren wasteland, and sand covered casinos in Las Vegas. One shows the Welcome Podner Cowboy sign, crying and waving, "So Long Podner."

Reid indicated that the retaliation would start on Wednesday morning, the day after the election, "If the vote went the wrong way. Let's see how far they get without a Federal Gaming Stamp and a Nevada Gaming License.

The Nevada Gaming Commission issued this statement. "Without a Federal Gaming Stamp the casinos will have to shut down, there is nothing we can do. We have been warned by Reid that if he loses, he will pull all the Federal Stamps on all the casinos in Nevada. We'll be a state full of hotels and motels and bars, hookers and b-flats (entertainers) and nothing to draw the people. Maybe the golf courses and the pools will keep us afloat, but I doubt it. If Reid loses, the state goes under."

I wonder why?

Did you ever notice, and wonder why, in movies, on TV, when someone is in a hurry to leave, their home or their hotel, or motel, they always have to pack their suitcase, even if they just throw a few things in it, they have to pack it.

One show, they were stealing a million dollars, in desperate hurry to leave, but she had to pack her suitcase, didn't have much, probably less than a hundred dollars in clothes, but she had to pack them. And, they got caught because of it. Now, they could have purchased a whole new wardrobe whenever they got to where they were going, but no, she had to pack.

"Quick, pack your suitcase, we gotta get out of here."

I wonder why that is?

NFL Getting Serious TINC News

An emergency meeting of the National Football League officials, owners and players was called Sunday afternoon to address some of the issues facing the league. Helmet to helmet tackling, excessive celebrating, players running in to officials and conduct off field, were just a few of the many problems facing the league this year.

We could only speculate what was being discussed behind the closed door meeting, but during several "potty" breaks some of the agenda was disclosed by meeting members in their haste to reach the few bathrooms on the thirteenth floor of the building where the meetings were being held.

One major area of concern pertained to the helmet to helmet contact that has resulted in so many concussions and neck injuries. Apparently the one suggestions that seemed the most practical was to do away with the present helmets and issue leather helmets to all players. It was felt that by doing this, no player would want to go head to head, if the outcome could be serious injury for both players involved in the collision. One linebacker was quoted as saying,"Hey, I ain't gonna try to hit nobody real hard if all I got on my head for protection is one a them old leather things. I am just gonna do like in the old days and tackle some guy and not try to break his neck, OK?.

After last Sunday's injury to the member of the "chain gang" in New Orleans, starting in two weeks, to give all the stadiums time to make arrangements, chain gangs and sideline officials will use the first two rows of the stadium, and use laser activated markers to mark the progress on the field.

It was decided, too, that chaperons will be hired and trained by the league to accompany all players when they are outside of their homes or apartments.

Drinking of alcoholic beverages during the pre-season and regular season will be strictly prohibited for all players.

It will be against league policy to originate and send any pornographic material through the mail or via email. No nude photographs will be taken for any reason.

League officials further decreed that no active roster player can be in the presence of any female, wives, mothers and legitimate children excluded. They later amended this to include "illegitimate children."

It was also rumored that the league had been contacted by a member of Al Kaida, who requested that no Muslims be allowed to attend games as long as "pigskins" were used on the field of play.

Owners also have been contacted in regards to their contracting with Arthur Murray to instruct those players who feel they have to "dance" after a successful play. Those same players have the option of wearing appropriate team colored tights for their dances.

Official results of the meeting will be disclosed at a later date.

Mosque on White House Lawn TINC News

Harry L. Reeltor, Superintendent of Federal Grounds in Washington, D.C., announced today that due to a misinterpretation of Section D., Page 4879, Paragraph, 3, permission had been granted to Rasheed Ahamed Reebama, to proceed with plans to construct a mosque in the backyard of the White House.

He stated, "As per a directive we received in September from the President, our staff was out campaigning for Democratic Candidates, and unfortunately, when Mr. Reebama applied for the building permit, the only person in the office was Abin Ben Samir, and he automatically approved their plans."

It appears that the structure will be a duplicate of the Blue Mosque in Istanbul, Turkey. The cascading domes and six slender minarets of the Mosque will dominate the skyline of Washington.

The mosque complex will include a madrasa, a hospital, a han, a primary school, a market, an imaret, an armory for storage of automatic weapons and bomb making material and a training facility for young Muslim trainees.

When President Obama was asked about the pending structure, he replied, "Hey, I just work here. We can always land the helicopters in the front yard. I just don't see anything wrong with government employees doing a few favors for me, after all, I am the President."

Construction of the new complex will start in the Spring of 2011, immediately after the American Pork Producers Association have their annual Pork barbecue in the back yard of the White House.

Favre says "I was tricked" TINC News

Wes Graham, a free lance photographer and contributing writer to many sports magazines, indicated recently in a conversation he was having with Hobie Grier on a highly regarded sports talk show in Pioche, Nevada, that he had proof that Brett Favre was innocent of all of the charges that have been brought against him recently.

He stated that, people from the Levi Company are determined to disgrace him and therefore, the buying public will question his sincerity in his endorsements of Wrangler Jeans.

He was approached by an unnamed pharmaceutical company, manufacturer of a "male enhancement" pill who wanted the masculine athlete to endorse their pill and become a 'poster boy' for virility, male enhancement and heightened sexual activity.

A clause in the lucrative contract stipulated that Favre submit photographic proof of his genitals. On one occasion the company had signed a contract with a world class cyclist, who later turned out to be female.

When Brett sent those pictures, he thought they were going to the pharmaceutical company, as fulfillment of his contract obligations. Little did he know that they would be used against him, to taint an otherwise illustrious career.

When confronted with the allegations, Favre commented, "Heck, golly, I thought that lady photographer invited me to the motel to take them pictures for the pill company, I didn't know they would get me in this much trouble."

Arizona Judge in Trouble TINC News

The Third District Court of Appeals, in Flagstaff Arizona has come under fire for some of its inhumane methods of handing out punishment.

Judge Manherd Prather recently has been sentencing some offenders to what some consider "cruel and inhuman" sentences.

He first came under fire when Albert K. Honkay, previously convicted drug dealer came before him on a charge of selling cocaine to the Milsap High School Parent Teachers Association which then intended to resell as a school fundraising project for the sixth grade students. They needed funds to purchase playground equipment for the recently refurbished playground that had been damaged during a recent tornado.

Attempts to get funding from the Obama administration had failed.

Honkay and three of his associates were found guilty of the charge. Judge Prather sentenced all four men to three months in the State Prison, and further stated that, Each day you will be escorted, under guard, to the TV lounge, where you will be strapped in chairs, facing the TV, and made to watch "The View" and "The Talk," each day for the duration of your time in prison.

"I realize this is somewhat unique, but the despicable seriousness of your crime dictates a severe punishment. I can think of nothing worse than having to watch those shows. May God have mercy on your souls," he judge stated.

Going Bananas

Sometime, when you have nothing better to do, spend some time in a super market. Find a spot where you can stand, not too obvious, and watch people buy bananas. I have had the occasion to do this many times when I was doing demonstrations at Walmart. I often set up by the banana display.

Some people act as if they were banana experts. They pick up a bunch after carefully looking at them, and out of maybe 40 or 50 bunches, they select one bunch, reach out and carefully, lovingly and slowly, pick the bunch up. After they have checked them out for a few moments, then they slowly turn the bunch over, and give the same careful scrutiny to the bottoms.

This rotation of the bananas is done perhaps 3 or 4 times, slowly and meticulously, and all performed with the eye of an expert. I imagine that diamond cutters peruse a 3 or 4 caret diamond with the same adoring look that women give to bananas when they are selecting the bunch that they are going to take home. I have often wondered what they were thinking, or phantasizing about the bananas.

I have seen people take a minute or two, check each banana in the bunch for flaws, pick up many bunches, before finding just the "right one." But I also have seen a customer pick up many of the bunches, check the top, turn them over, put them back and then go to the next bunch.

But I have seen a customer, walk up to the display, pick up a bunch, put them in the cart, all in a matter of seconds.

Do women take a course in Home Economics in High School on bananas, and how to select them, that make them such experts. I have never seen a college course offering a degree in Banana Selecting. OK, now I see, the B.S. really means Banana Specialist. I never knew.

So, next time you visit a super market, spend some time near the banana display, just don't laugh out loud and give yourself away when some woman, or man, go through all these antics, and they will, trust me.

Tacky Ad

I thought this was tacky, to say the least.

Some Observations

When did so many women become so knowledgeable about sports?  They aren't broadcasting yet, other than sideline commentary, but they are everywhere else. Nothing wrong with it, just wonder when it all happened.

When and why did tattoos become so popular. I guess the when doesn't matter but why? They can't say, "My Mom had one." Not true, Moms did have tats, many do now, but some generation started the whole thing. I suppose some "celeb" got drunk, got a tattoo, and then everyone wanted one. Legs, necks, ankles, chests, they are everywhere, don't understand it.

When did politicians QUIT telling their party affiliations. If you don't check the disclaimer, you don't know what party they are. You have to look for terms like liberal and conservative and then you get some idea. And, it is difficult to determine who the ad is for. In some, the opponent's name is mentioned more than the candidate. A couple I have seen make it impossible to know who the ad is for. I remember many years ago one of the "no-no's" was, don't mention your opponent. It was all "Vote for Smith." Don't mention Jones, your opponent. Now they mention Jones, and all the negative they can come up with, and don't mention Smith. They can run all the ads they want to, I know who I am voting for, my mind is made up.

Why did they push EARLY VOTING. That makes me wonder. Did it give someone an indication of where more work was needed? Or, maybe an opportunity to do some "early switching" and not have to wait for election night and less time to "do the magic." Just look at all the things that can be done with computers, anything can be accessed. Probably would be easy to change some figures, or move some around. Don't think it can't be done, I'm sure it can.

I was under the impression that taxpayer money could not be used to in a political campaign. How then can Obama fly all over the country, in AFONE, to campaign for all of his cronies who seem to be in political trouble. Who is running the country, not Obama, he hasn't been home long enough. If we're paying for it, he has run up one heck of a bill. He raises a million for a candidate and it costs us a million for him to do it.

Have not seen any yard signs for any candidates, other than local. Not even any bumper stickers, seems like they have put all of their many millions on NEGATIVE ADS on TV, so many that in my case, I pay no attention to them.......

WHY do THEY want YOU to VOTE Early
Do THEY know something about computers that YOU don't.
Do THEY get an idea where THEY have to do some damage control.

Golden Moments

I started pondering, the other day, and I have missed out on a number of things in my life, wonder what it would have been like ............

I never knew a grandparent, all sides had passed by the time I was born. I am a grandparent and a great-grandparent, and I know what all I feel and have done and would like to do for my grand kids. I missed out on all of that being spoiled. Grandparents are great things, I never had any.

I never had a Sister. Well, Priscilla was born a few years before me, but died at birth. Neither she nor a memory of her was a part of my youth. It would have been great having a sister, I think. She would have been my big sister, three years older. She could have been a "pain" or she could have been a pal. I wonder how life would have been with a big Sister.

I had a Brother, but he was twelve years older, so I really never got to know him well. He was always a life ahead of me. When I started school, he was in high school, then he was in college, and then in the Navy, and then he got married. So, we never had any time together. I looked up to him, but we really never got to be "friends," have very few memories of when "we" had time together, just sit and talking. I guess, in reality, we were really never brothers, at least not like I see on TV and in the movies. We never "shared" any moments. We never "giggled" together or something that happened.

My Mom and her Sister used to "giggle," they had moments they shared together and memories of moments their shared. They had moments that they remembered that started out with a laugh, ha ha, then became a giggle, and then became almost hysterical laughing. Their Father, my Grandfather who I never knew, was a minister, they were PK's, Preachers Kids. They shared some of those moments where laughter had to be subdued, till it hurt.

One time we had to hurriedly drive to Indiana to a funeral, some close friend of the family had passed. It was a last minute, hurried trip. Dad drove faster than usual, went to the funeral home where my Aunt had saved seats for us. My Mom slid in next to Aunt Eva, then Dad, and me on the end. Dad slowly reached over to shake hands with Aunt Eva, instead, he got Mom's hand. After all that long hurried drive, there were my Mom and Dad, shaking hands. They ached to laugh, they tried their best, they both had to get up and leave the chapel. They had a lot of moments like. Golden moments.

Former Brothel King with HUD a TinC exclusive

An undisclosed source in Washington revealed yesterday that recent unemployment figures and home sales decline had caused HUD to come up with some drastic measures. He indicated that HUD had contacted Nevada brothel owner, Joe Conforte, who is presently living in Brazil to avoid prosecution in this country, and told him that charges would be dropped, if he returned to this country as an advisor to HUD.

His area of expertise in prostitution would be put to use in finding some common denominator between housing and prostitution as the two go hand in hand.

They further indicated that they had approached Bernard Madoff to see if there was any interest on his part to arrange financing for the proposed operation. They indicated to him that an "early release" might be arranged or that an office and staff would be made available to him in prison.

HUD did not go in to the details of their plan but one can only speculate on the outcome of a prostitution king, a money generator, housing available and unemployed women.

The aging Conforte, former owner of the Triangle Ranch and the Mustang Ranch, was quoted as saying, "Eet wuld be bueno to get back to the US. I haff many friends there and of course mucho dinero (money) buried that the IRS knows nada about. I guess I have peeked up some of the language since I have been down here."

It will be interesting to see the outcome of this alliance.

Breeding MIracle TICNews

Dr. Sigfreed VanDerfly of the Institute for Diptera Research located in Brussels, near the site of the Langlaglfuer Landfill, recently announced that after many years, had a breakthrough. After all the research, experiments, training and crossbreeding, they had developed a fly that could walk on his hind legs.

He was quoted as saying, "This could cut some disease epidemics almost in half."

He further explained, "The Diptera,(di meaning two and ptera meaning wings), is of great importance as disease transmitters, acting as vectors for malaria, dengue, West Nile virus, yellow fever, encephalitis and other infectious diseases."

He was asked how this research could cut down disease on such a large scale, he replied, "If their feet transmit the disease, and we are not sure, his hind two feet would transmit half of the diseases, rather than all four feet. We have cut the "transmition possibility" in half."

Cathedral may sell a TinC News

It was revealed today that the glass structured church, the Crystal Cathedral in Garden Grove, California, is in financial trouble and is filing for bankruptcy.

Membership and donations had been declining since founder Dr.Robert Schuller retired and stepped down from the pulpit a few years ago. Before moving to Garden Grove, where, after humble beginnings, the Garden Grove Community Church was opened in 1955 in the Orange Drive-In Theater, which Schuller rented for $500. The Cathedral was completed in 1961 at a cost of $3,000,000 After he stepped down, some controversy arose, apparently some problem between Dr. Schuller's children. Debts are in the millions.

Executives from Windex have contacted the Schuller family, and indicated that they might be interested in purchasing the glass structure and utilizing it as a Research and Development center as well as a training facility for future window cleaners.

They indicated also that they had an interest in utilizing the offices for the training facility with future plans of establishing Windex University. Their plans involved converting the main sanctuary into a basketball court for a future university basketball team, the Windex Blues.

The Schullers indicated they were considering the offer.

A New Non-profit

OK, I am off and running
DONATE HERE
In order for the IRS to recognize an organization as being qualified for 501(c)(3) status, it must satisfy the IRS's general definition of being organized for charitable purposes. "Charity" is broadly defined to include the following organizational purposes: religious, educational, charitable (benevolence), scientific, literary, testing for public safety, fostering of national or international amateur sports, or prevention of cruelty to animals and children.
DONATE HERE
How about................
DONATE HERE
NOCOLASSIST .... helping those the government has chosen to neglect
DONATE HERE
We will give grants, to the elderly on SS, in the amount of $700.00, an amount a little greater than their raise would have been. The money will just be given to them, no repayment. The person will submit an application, it will be approved by a board of directors, or someone, and if approved, (have to figure the best way) a credit card or a debit card, or something will be sent to the applicant, in the amount of $700.00. Hey, maybe just send them a Walmart card for that amount. That is probably where they will spend it anyway.
DONATE HERE
You noticed that the DONATE HERE link is not working yet. I may have to start another Non-profit to get the money to start NOCOLASSIST. It costs money to get the 501(3)(c), must be money in them though, there are thousands of them.

Going to have to look into this a little more.

I Wonder????????

I get emails every day, from some political organization that sounds legitimate. They have a sincere message, only broken by DONATE HERE, after each paragraph.

The country is in sad shape and needs ................
DONATE HERE
If he is elected he will bring, etc, etc, etc.
DONATE HERE
Old Whats His Name is spending MILLIONS a week against .................
DONATE HERE

There are thousands of political activists, in hundreds of categories. Spend a day sometime, search some of them. MANY of the groups are in the same buildings and almost have the same addresses. And if you search ownership and management, it turns out to be someone who met Clinton one time, or some such association.

They start a group, which anyone can, get a 401 3C, or whatever it is, and start begging for money, money they claim will support something or someone. My guess is it supports the guy who started the organization, in a style he was never accustomed to.

The name all sound alike.

I cancelled all of them I could, a few still sneak by.

I think I am going to start one, for the elderly. To help the elderly make up for the money they lost, last year, and this year, with no COLA raise. If I do it right, I can collect enough to help some of them (us) financially, and maybe, if I do it right, make, well, maybe, a hundred thousand or so for myself. I need money, too, most of them are in Florida, so will relocate down there and get an office. Need some suggestions on a name for the NON-PROFIT group.

Update on the Arcade Project

My dreams have changed. I have received so much positive response concerning the opening of my brothel in the Arcade that I no longer want to open my truck garage on the South side of the Square. I have been approached by the Pennnnn Corporation who inquired about leasing the street level portion of the building to open a casino, and moving the brothel into the basement.

They indicated that the possibility exists that they have located a Hopewell Indian survivor, living under a bridge in Toboso. Her Indian name is Owaahtanah and according to her, she was originally from Dresden. She stated that her great, great grandfather, Chief Mawahmantoso, translated means 'basket weaver" had relocated his tribe to the Dresden area  "many moons" ago. They survived by making baskets and selling them to the local population.

She related too, that the Dresden Vocational School had persuaded her father, The Chief, to teach classes at the school on Basket Weaving. Rumor has it that one of his early students was named Longaberger.

When the Pennnnn Corporation was contacted regarding a gaming license for the proposed "Casino in the Arcade in the Mustang Building,"  their representative commented, "No problem, we will get an Indian Casino License, we found one living in Toboso who showed ownership papers of the entire downtown area." She also told us, "I have a country club golf course too, with a pool and tennis courts."

She further stated, "Eef awl of theese works out, Little Running Wolf  Siam and I weel be able to get married, I am veery excited."

Construction on the new complex will start as soon as building permits are acquired.

Letter to the Editor

From: Justin O. Smith

Dear Sir:

My dreams are now shattered, let me explain. All my life I have dreamed of owning a heavy truck repair business in Downtown Newark, on the square, and the Newark City Council has bashed those dreams on the rocks of city government.

Twenty years ago I started saving money for this venture. Estimates were that it would cost approximately four million dollars to open such a garage, and I started saving. I shook my drug habit, cut down on eating and did away with many of the necessities of life to see this dream come true. I could just picture my garage taking up most of the South side of the square, with all the easy access for those big 18 wheelers to stop by. Trucks from Route 16 and 79, the big boys stopping in off of Route 70, driving all the way over from 71, an ideal location.

I talked with some who thought Route 70 or a similar location would be better, but I always got the same answer when I asked why, "Traffic." I told them, "You've never seen that Square at night."

Now, NO HEAVY TRUCK REPAIR, thanks to City Council, my dreams are shattered.

I am considering taking the money I have saved and contacting the owner of that Arcade building, where ever it is, and opening a brothel. I understand it has many rooms in it, so it seems adequate, and I guess it is on council's list of acceptable businesses for the downtown area.

I have been in touch with Joe Conforte in Brazil and gotten some ideas from him, he wants me to call it "The Mustang Building." Catchy name.

Newark taking steps to attract business

The City of Newark, Ohio, my city, is trying to ban certain businesses in their downtown area.

They are:

PAWN SHOPS

TATTOO SHOPS
AUTOMOBILE MAJOR REPAIRS
TRUCK AND HEAVY VEHICLE SERVICES

They are also trying to attract business to the same area.

Just think about some of the more popular shows on TV. There are at least two popular shows featuring Pawn Shops, the one in Last Vegas probably being the most popular. I watch it all the time. There are at least two shows on Tattoo Parlors, as I always called them.

Many shows about automotive repair shops. One on radio has been on for years, and there is a whole channel devoted to automotive, and many of them are about repair.

The truck and heavy vehicle service I don't understand. Why would anyone want to repair their 18 wheeler in a downtown area? Why not just pass legislation and not allow them on downtown streets, as if they would want to be, and that would take care of that.

Nothing mentioned about brothels and opium dens. How about Doctors offices and all the traffic they would generate, that would be disgusting, and all the children would throw away those sucker wrappers when they leave. Dentists, maybe some spitting on the street when they leave the office and walk a few, well maybe four or five blocks to their car. "Oh, heck, where did I park that car, I couldn't find a parking spot."

Retailing generates a lot of traffic, both vehicular and walking, then crowded streets, that means more police and fire protection, so let's eliminate retailing in the downtown area. Oh, they don't have to, there is none, I wonder why that is?

If you are contemplating moving a business to Newark, Ohio, please contact the Mayors Office, and then attend a City Council Meeting and ask them if your business is "acceptable" to them, or WHOEVER it is that has an idea of how the downtown should look.

My hunch comes from an old Gene Kelly, Frank Sinatra movie, "Obrien, to Ryan to Goldberg," the old triple play threat. I know who Goldberg is, Newark City Council, I wonder who Obrien and Ryan are.

No Way

There is absolutely no truth to the rumor that Obama had the CIA create the disaster in Chile, to put TV focus on Chile, and not on the political races. During that blackout, there has been quite a "swing" in the political races. Democrats have made tremendous gains during this time.

This can be attributed to "early voting arranging," and other "alterations" in changing the results.

Arrangements had been made to have Speaker of the House, Nancy Pelosi, and Reid be the last two rescuers out, but the rescue schedule, according to Obama, "due to Democratic efficiency," was executed  much faster than originally anticipated. Obama thought it would be a "political coup" to have Nancy shown to the world as the brainchild of the entire operation, and the rescue "facilitator."

Air Force One was on its way to Chile with many incumbent Democrats office holders on aboard, but was diverted back to Washington when Obama's plans were shattered by an efficiently run rescue operation, orchestrated by the Chilean Government.

As Air Force One was navigating a slow 180 degree turn, to head them North, Obama was overheard saying, "They are really good, I wish I was Chilean, hey, maybe I am."

Which one?

One of the miners in Chile has a wife and a girlfriend. Apparently they are saying the wife is giving way to the girlfriend. Does that mean the wife is going to be up there waving "Good Bye" to him.

Reminds me of a friend I had in Nevada, at Lake Tahoe. Name of Jack, forget his last name.

Jack had a heart attack, while working, and was taken by ambulance to the hospital. Not sure if he went to the one on the South side of Lake Tahoe, or to Carson City.

Story goes that when Jack first woke up, on one side of his bed, his girlfriend, on the other side, his wife. All that tension, and a heart attack too.

Reportedly, he kept his eyes closed and waited for one of them to leave. Never heard how it ended.

My Grandfather, Caleb Dooley, is buried in Marion, Indiana, with his first wife on one side, and his second wife on the other.  IF ..... anyway, can you imagine how he is spending eternity, with his wives discussing him, or worse, arguing?

Purgatory, either way.

Amazing ..................

I think the whole world, and all of its problems, has come to a standstill, to watch the rescue of the Chilean miners.

I don't even know for sure, where Chile is. I don't know anyone from Chile, but this story is extraordinary. The only thing missing is Obama. I am surprised that he didn't take old AF ONE and fly down there. He could have taken 33 politicians, whose futures are questionable, with him and greeted each miner as they emerged from that hole. He could have handed each one, a million dollars, as they stepped out of the capsule. It would have been a political coupe.

It is great for TV though, 33 rescues, not one or two, but 33. How will they try to keep their audience for all those rescues. Would be a shame if no one was around for number 33.

"Hey fix it so it all shuts down when the last guy gets to the top, he can get out by himself, we've got to get back to Pennsylvania, we can pick the stuff up later."

It is very emotional though, the family members waiting. I don't know who all those people are, one, I guess is the President of Chile and his wife. I guess President's are President's, regardless of where they are.

Getting them all out of the mine was quite a chore, but getting them all on Leno is going to be quite a job.

Democratic Platforn on Social Security - 2000

Following are excerpts from the Democratic platform,

Americans' golden years should be times of calm and security, not concern and stress. Few achievements testify more to the ability of government to do good than Social Security.

It has lifted millions of elderly Americans out of poverty and helped them make ends meet.

Social Security is more than a government program. It is a solemn compact between the generations. It is our nation's most important family protection. The choice for Americans on this vital part of our national heritage has never been more clear: Democrats believe in using our prosperity to save Social Security; the Republicans tax cut would prevent America from ensuring our senior citizens have a secure retirement.

We owe it to America's children and their children to make the strength and solvency of Social Security a major national priority.

SO MUCH FOR THAT LINE OF THINKING
NO RAISE IN 2010 AND NO RAISE IN 2011
CONGRESS GETS THEIR COLA RAISE
THE ELDERLY JUST GET SCREWED

NEW PLAN
REMOVE MEDICAL BENEFITS FROM THE ELDERLY
THEY WILL DIE SOONER
THEY WON'T NEED THE RAISE
THIN OUT THE "ELDERHERD"

I'm Tired ............

For months now I have been suggesting that CONSERVATIVES should get off their butts and start doing some positive campaigning. It was so much fun just ridiculing Obama and his group. It apparently was much easier doing that than coming up with anything positive, like who to vote for and why.

Now the Liberals are doing the things they do so well. They are selecting critical areas of the political picture, doing just what they have to do to insure that they will maintain control, everywhere that is important.

Biden, Obama, Clinton, and others are being orchestrated by a political conductor who possesses an infinite amount of wisdom on what it is going to take to win what they need to win.

I think, now more than ever, that they are going to pull it off. They are relying on Republican complacency and over confidence, as they have in the past. I have done Blogs, Facebook entries, Emails and on a website, and no one would listen.

I am old, and I am tired. I am now just going to sit back and watch it all happen, and hear their new cry, What Happened In November, and then Wait Till 2012. RIP Liberals.

Obama, Democrats Declare War on U.S. Chamber

Monday, 11 Oct 2010 02:18 PM By: David A. Patten

With massive midterm losses looming, President Barack Obama is blasting the U.S. Chamber of Commerce for accepting foreign donations for its political advertising — a charge that myriad watchdogs and media outlets already have debunked as groundless.

The political battle the allegation has touched off appears to be escalating.

It began at a political rally in Maryland last week, when the president echoed a charge that first appeared in a left-wing blog that the Chamber of Commerce had used foreign contributions to help defray its $75 million campaign advertising budget.

Said Obama: "So groups that receive foreign money are spending huge sums to influence American elections, and they won't tell you where the money for their ads come from."

The Chamber immediately denied the report, explaining that its strict accounting procedures keep foreign and domestic contributions separate.

Denunciations that the allegations appear groundless have spanned the political spectrum.

The New York Times on Monday stated flatly in a news article: "The Democrats have offered no evidence that the Chamber is using foreign money to influence the elections."

On Sunday's "Face the Nation" program, White House senior adviser David Axelrod conceded that the administration has no facts to support its claim, while not backing off on the president's implication that the Chamber may have violated U.S. laws.

When ABC host Bob Schieffer asked whether he had any evidence to support the charge, Axelrod shot back: "Well, do you have any evidence it's not [true] Bob?"

Schieffer's replied by asking Axelrod: "Is that the best you can do?"

The allegations against the Chamber, even as the administration tries to assure job-generating corporations that it is pro-business, appear to be part of a larger Democratic effort to alter the political dialogue in the closing weeks of the campaign.

Max Baucus, chairman of the Senate Finance Committee, has asked the IRS to investigate groups, such as the Chamber, that do political advertising. Also, Sen. Al Franken, D-Minn., has called for a Federal Election Commission probe into whether the Chamber is using foreign donations to influence domestic politics.

Also, the Democratic National Committee has released a new ad castigating the Chamber as "shills for big business." The ad depicts a thief snatching a woman's purse in a parking garage.

"They're stealing our democracy, spending millions from secret donors to elect Republicans to do their bidding in Congress," a narrator says in the ad. "It appears they've even taken secret foreign money to influence our elections."

The Wall Street Journal shot back in its lead editorial Monday: "Democrats are unleashing government power to silence their political opponents. Instead of piling on, the press corps ought to blow the whistle on this attempt to stifle political speech. This is one more liberal abuse of power that voters should consider as they had to the polls."

Republicans and business leaders are firing back as well.

Former White House Press Secretary and Fox News commentator Dana Perino tells Newsmax that Democrats are beginning to look desperate in the face of bad poll numbers.

"It sure isn't looking good," she says, "and it gets worse every day. And their desperation and [the] lashing out from the White House is — or should — be beneath them."

"Desperate, partisan attacks are a transparent attempt to distract voters from the issue America cares most about: job creation," wrote R. Bruce Josten, the Chamber's executive vice president for government affairs, on the Chamber website. "Now is not the time for political stunts, as the American people are rejecting politics as usual."

Obama himself appeared to back down somewhat Sunday at rally in Philadelphia, slamming Republicans for being beholden to moneyed interests while stopping short of alleging a violation of U.S. law.

But he did so by raising more questions about foreign influence in U.S. elections.

"They are being helped along this year by special interest groups that are spending unlimited amounts of money on attack ads . . . just attacking people without ever disclosing who's behind all these attack ads," Obama said of the GOP. "You don't know. It could be the oil industry. It could be the insurance industry. It could even be foreign-owned corporations. You don't know because they don't have to disclose."

The latest remarks of Axelrod and Obama appear designed to put the pressure on the Chamber and other pro-business campaign advertisers to reveal which companies are contributing to their ad campaigns. The Supreme Court's January ruling in the Citizens United case allows organizations such as trade associations to run independent advertising for or against candidates — even within 60 days of an election. The advertising can be paid for through anonymous donations.

Companies seek to keep their political activities anonymous to avoid boycotts by left-wing organizations that could hurt their businesses. When Target Corp. recently donated $150,000 of support to a group that ran advertising for Minnesota GOP gubernatorial candidate Tom Emmer, MoveOn.org accused it of being anti-gay and started a boycott petition.

Some analysts say Obama and Democrats appear to be trying to shift the campaign's focus off of the president's policies and the dismal economy.

I think that SLANDER is involved here. "The pot calling the kettle black." DESPERATION, LAST MINUTE TACTICS ................... THEY will do ANYTHING necessary ......... This ADMINISTRATION is a BLACK MARK on this country. Their DESPERATION tactics are beyond comprehension ............... They will stop at NOTHING to get their way ..... I hope the 58 MILLION on SS who WILL NOT get the raise this year are listening ............

72,000 dead people received stimulus payments

By Stephen Ohlemacher

Associated Press / October 8, 2010

WASHINGTON — About 89,000 stimulus payments of $250 each went to people who were either dead or in prison, a government investigator says in a new report.

The Social Security payments, part of last year’s economic recovery package, were meant to increase consumer spending to help stimulate the economy.

But about $18 million went to nearly 72,000 people who were dead, according to the report by the Social Security Administration’s inspector general. The report estimates that a little more than half of those payments were returned.

The administration had received notification of the deaths of 63,481 of those beneficiaries, the report said, yet failed to ensure they were not sent the checks.

An additional $4.3 million went to more than 17,000 prison inmates, the report said. However, most of the inmates were eligible to get the payments because they were newly incarcerated and had been receiving Social Security.

In all, the $250 one-time payments were sent to about 52 million people who receive either Social Security or Supplemental Security Income, at a cost of about $13 billion. Other federal retirees also received the payments, but they were not part of the inspector general’s review.

Social Security spokesman Mark Lassiter said: “Inaccurate payments are unacceptable. Social Security’s Recovery Act payments were 99.8 percent accurate, and we quickly collected the majority of the inaccurate payments. Each year we make payments to a small number of deceased recipients, usually because we have not yet received reports of their deaths.’’

The inspector general has been auditing the payments to make sure no checks went to ineligible recipients. The latest report was dated Sept. 24 but was just recently posted to the agency’s website.

People were eligible for payments if they were getting benefits during any one of the three months before the law was passed in February 2009.

The report said the law contained no provision to recover payments incorrectly sent to dead people.

“Based on the failure of the SSA to properly check its records, and Congress’s failure to fully think through the provisions needed to govern these payments, SSA lost $22.3 million in American tax dollars,’’ said Senator Tom Coburn, an Oklahoma Republican. “These findings are yet another example of congressional stupidity and a lack of accountability.’’

The Social Security Administration said it had faced tight deadlines to get the checks out.

“We worked with Treasury, developed new processes, and began issuing [payments] about 30 days earlier than the legislatively mandated deadline,’’ the agency said in a written response included in the inspector general’s report. “This was a major accomplishment for our agency.’’

The inspector general’s report said if similar payments are authorized in the future, prison inmates should be ineligible and the government should be able to recover payments made to people who have died. The report also called on the agency to be more vigilant in identifying those recipients who have died or have been imprisoned. The Social Security Administration agreed with the recommendations.

The checks were part of one of President Obama’s top domestic priorities early in his administration: a package of tax cuts and spending increases intended to soften the blow of the credit crisis on the economy and workers.

The White House has insisted the stimulus package, now with a price tag of $814 billion, prevented the economy from suffering greater damage, but Republicans have used it on the campaign trail to paint Democrats as free spenders who do not understand how to create jobs.

The nonpartisan Congressional Budget Office has estimated the measure created or saved 1.4 million to 3.3 million jobs and continues to boost economic growth.

RESPONSE from The Mad Is On In Oklahoma

In the many lies told by Obama,Reid and Pelosi, America was duped to believe that the Democrats were out to get the "rich" and take their money to give to the poor. The class war has been a mainstay of the Democratic party since FDR.

You should first realize that the reason the money is not in the Social Security account is because the politicians have raided it for years, spending the money on things other than the Security of the elderly.

Next, the outright lies to the people. While we thought that we were going to be taken care of, the Democrats, behind closed doors, under the table and with a wink of the eye have put the poor out of work, ruined savings and are now after the weakest of our Society, the aged who actually built the nation we live in.

Remember when Pelosi and Reid told their Party that they should vote for Bills that the Public opposed, even if it caused them to lose their jobs. Often they were encouraged to pass them without reading what was written so that they would not know what Obama, Reid and Pelosi were up to, Some had to be bribed, to be sure, but they fell into lock-step and allowed the Bills to be passed into law.

Look back now. What was done -what IS being done - to affect the "rich"? Not a thing. Everything that has been done is an attack on the less fortunate, the sick, the old and the uneducated..

The Rich, including most politicians, can afford two dollars for a loaf of bread. The rich can afford to put fifty dollars into their gas tank, The rich have health care, retirement, insurance and access to decent education.

But, we should be happy. We have given a lot of money to the Unions. Not the workers of the Unions, but to the Unions so they can fight in the courts to promote mediocre work, failed teachers and , of course Government workers.

You would have to admit, the money is being used much more effectively than just "giving" it to the people that it belongs to - the elderly, the hurt and the weak.

Obama - 1 The Elderly - 0

WASHINGTON (Oct. 10) - The government is expected to announce this week that more than 58 million Social Security recipients will go through another year without an increase in their monthly benefits.

It would mark only the second year without an increase since automatic adjustments for inflation were adopted in 1975. The first year was this year.

Ruling?

Clinton appointed judge rules for tyranny in our country.....

Steeh says government can compel the purchase of health insurance, thereby allowing the federal government to order us to buy anything they wish under the threat of penalty.....

If not overturned, his ruling has given federal government unlimited power, just the opposite of the constitution!

This concerns me .......... and about the future..

I received this as an email, I am in that group, it CONCERNS me, and about YOUR future.

Diagnosed with cancer last year. See what his doctor is saying....

Wednesday, I was at the doctor whom I have been going to since we moved down here (he is the one who discovered my cancer). I have to get a very expensive shot every 3 months ($3000) that is designed to keep the PSA down and help to prevent a recurrence of the cancer. Has some uncomfortable side effects, and I was questioning the need to continue with it, which he assured me was necessary. He then asked how old I was, and when I replied 70, he said that with the new health care legislation I probably would not be able to get it next year, as that would be money better spent on someone else with greater longevity. I would be referred to someone to "counsel" me.

I asked him why the AMA had recently endorsed the plan. He replied that only about 15% of the nation's doctors were members of AMA, and most of them were not really on the front lines of doctor hood but in some other areas of medicine. He said he was a member, but would not be after this membership year.

This man got part of his training in London , and practiced in Canada for 16 years before coming to the US , and he has no use for socialized medicine, regardless of how you wrap it, or what kind of bow to put on it. He said that we have a shortfall of around 400,000 doctors at the present time, and many of today's doctors are of the baby boomer generation who are nearing retirement and/or will decide to hang it up rather than deal with the results this is sure to bring.

Scary, my friends. The picture for our age group is not pretty in Obama land.

SENIOR DEATH WARRANTS:

In England no one over 59 can receive heart repairs or stints or bypass because it is not covered as being too expensive and not needed.

Obama wants a health care system just like Canada 's and England 's.

Everybody that is on this mailing list is either a senior citizen, is getting close or knows somebody that is.

Most of you know that the Senate version (at least) of the "stimulus" bill includes provisions for extensive rationing of health care for senior citizens. The author of this part of the bill, former senator and tax evader, Tom Daschle was credited by Bloomberg with the following statement:

Bloomberg: Daschle says "health-care reform will not be pain free. Seniors should be more accepting of the conditions that come with age instead of treating them."

If this does not sufficiently raise your ire, just remember that our esteemed Senators and Congressmen have their own health care plan that is first dollar or very low co-pay which they are guaranteed for the remainder of their lives. Nor are they subject to this new law.

Please use the power of the Internet to get this message out. Talk it up at the grassroots level. We have an election coming up very shortly. And we have the ability to address and reverse the dangerous direction the Obama administration and its allies have begun Let's do this!

Are we great, or what?

EZ Smoker and Bottled Water, two great inventions.

Bottled water, who first thought of that. Can you imagine him telling his wife, years ago, "Honey, I'm going to start selling water in bottles."

"Yeah, right!"

"No, seriously, I'm going to sell water in plastic bottles, I think it will be BIG."

"Yeah, right!"

"Hey, Honey, my water is going to sell for more than a Coke."

"Yeah, right, that sure makes sense."

The rest is history, I think I heard that if they lined up those water bottles, end to end, they would go around the earth six times, or something like that.

I think, and this is my opinion only, that they put something in the water, diabolical, something in the water to make people want to get tattoos. I know that sounds far fetched, but think about it. Before people started drinking bottled water, few to no tats, now, many of the water bottles are being carried by tattooed arms. And, I think the new TV thing, where you either had to buy a "box"  or get a new TV, Hi-def, or something like that. I think that had something to do with tats, too. Something had to make everyone go nuts and get tats. "Hi Gramma, show me your tats."

We used to listen to the radio, AM. Then came FM, then HiFi, then stereo, TV, and then color TV. No tats during all that time, but when people started drinking bottled water, Hi-def TV, tats became the rage.

EZ Smoker is something else. A cigarette shaped thing that produces smoke. I quit smoking many years ago, so I can't say, but I just can't imagine, well, smoking that thing that has no odor to it, and produces, well, I don't know what it produces, but it looks like smoke. My guess is it is plastic, heat, batteries, it has to cause something. Time will tell.

I can imagine a guy, going into a nite club, sitting at the bar, ordering a Martini, pulling out his EZ, blowing out something, whatever it is, and some BIG bouncer comes over, tells him to put it out, and he has to try to explain to this "hulk" what it is he is doing.

"The sign says, "NO SMOKING."

"But this is my EZ Smoker."

"What is that coming out of your mouth?"

"EZ Smoke, or steam, or something, THIS is NOT a cigarette."

"Ouch, I didn't think you could put it there."

When you have a moment each ....

Lord,

hold our troops in your loving hands.

Protect them as they protect us.

Bless them and their families for the selfless acts they perform for us in our time of need.

I ask this in the name of Jesus, our Lord and Savior.

Amen.

Wondering

I was just driving up 21st Street, coming home from Walmart, and before I made my right turn on to Jackson, there was a big sign, right out by the road.

BRAKE SALE

Well, I knew I already had brakes on my car, but then I got to wondering, if you didn't have brakes, and needed some, you couldn't stop there anyway. You would just go zipping right on by.

The Haircut

One day a florist went to a barber for a haircut. After the cut, he asked about his bill, and the barber replied, 'I cannot accept money from you; I'm doing community service this week.' The florist was pleased and left the shop. When the barber went to open his shop the next morning, there was a 'thank you' card and a dozen roses waiting for him at his door.

Later, a policeman went in for a haircut, and when he tried to pay his bill, the barber again replied, 'I cannot accept money from you; I'm doing community service this week.' The policeman was happy and left the shop. The next morning when the barber went to open up, there was a 'thank you' card and a dozen donuts waiting for him at his door.

Then a Congressman went in for a haircut, and when he went to pay his bill, the barber again replied, 'I cannot accept money from you. I'm doing community service this week.' The Congressman was very happy and left the shop. The next morning, when the barber went to open up, there were a dozen Congressmen lined up waiting for a free haircut.

And that, my friends, illustrates the fundamental difference between the citizens of our country and the politicians who run it.

BOTH POLITICIANS AND DIAPERS NEED TO BE CHANGED OFTEN AND FOR THE SAME REASON!

When I first got this in an Email, I chuckled a little and thought it was cute, but the more I read it, the more "truth" in rang out. It doesn't take long, read it a few times, there is a lot of truth here.

I remember ...............

Fall is in the air, September 3, 2010.

I looked outside a while ago, went out onto the porch, a chill in the air. I noticed a few new colors in the Maple tree next door. It is odd, but I think I change with the seasons. I think maybe the realization that Fall is here brings back a whole new flood of memories, takes you back to a different time and place, and you feel all of those emotions.

In the Fall, Mom brought out the Hudson Bay blankets that had been stored in her Cedar Chest with some moth balls since the last Spring. I remember those first Fall nights, climbing under the cool sheets, and having that faint aroma fill my  nostrils. That was many years ago, but that memory is still vivid today. Those are memories of 319 South Brown Street, in Dayton, Ohio. a beautiful old house that no longer stands. A victim of a freeway. That is the house that I spent my first eleven years in, so many good memories there. It seems like I spent a lifetime there, but when I count it out, 1932 to 1943, a short time in my life. And then from 1943 to 1950, we lived in Oakwood. It seems like that was my whole life, but it was only the first 18 years. So many memories of those 18 years, but it seems like those were the biggest part of my life. Never thought of it that way.

I think that is one of the reasons I like living in Ohio. Changing seasons. As of this morning, I am in a Fall mode. I can smell the freshly cut grass, cut by Mr. Watts, on his riding mower, at Oakwood High School in Dayton, Ohio. Cut grass in the Fall smells different than cut grass in the Summer.

Tonight, when I go to bed, and pull those covers over me, I will smell a faint aroma of moth balls, and feel a Mother's loving hands pulling up those blankets and "tucking" me in, and that was over seventy years ago. Aren't memories, great?

I wonder?

Is it just my imagination, or are many of the political races around the country that were Conservative victories, getting closer.

Reid was dead and buried in Nevada, looks like it has gotten a little closer. The Governors race in Ohio was all but over, but, visits by Clinton and Obama, have really narrowed the margin.

No one would listen. When was the last time a Democrat just backed out, and opened the door for a Republican to walk in. It just doesn't work that way. Even the Liberal press has played a part in it. They have been guilty of "rocking a cradle full of  Conservatives, and keeping them occupied, while someone was trying to steal the baby." They were appeasing Conservatives and joined in the singing of "The Parties Over." They knew it wasn't over, they just acted like it was.

I think that in the next month, margins are going to draw closer, Bill Clinton will be busy in strategic areas, as will Obama and others, Pelosi will be busy playing all of her "cards," and the rest of the Democratic Party will be doing all of the "little things" it does to win elections.

A good athlete knows how to train, and how to "peak" at the right time. Teams "peak" at the right time. I think the Conservatives "peaked" too soon, and the Democrats are just getting tuned up for their turn.

My opinion only, "they" all indicate that I am wrong, I think that is how they want it.

I wonder why?

I was shopping at Walmart on Wednesday, and, like I often do, started counting items that were out of place. In other words, items that had been put in a cart, someone later decided they did not want the item, and just lay  it on a shelf or wherever they happened to be.

I counted 87 by the time we got to the checkout line.

I shop at other stores, but none of them have merchandise lying around like Walmart.

I know that often kids pick up items, put them in the cart, later Mom notices them and takes them out. Easy way, just set them at a nearby counter. Probably the same people who make their kids put things back, "where they belong," but that doesn't apply at Walmart for some reason.

Walmart used to have one person who walked all around the store picking these items up, and putting them back where they belong. I don't think they do that anymore.

Why just at Walmart? Maybe it is that "carriage trade" clientele they get.

I have seen parents take something away from their child, and just see it down wherever they happen to be. I am sure if they were at home they would make their child put something where it belonged, rather than just set it anywhere. Why do they feel free to do it at the store?
