Another internet hoax - Paula Dean the victim

I did a post recently about Paula Deen and comments she made on an Atlanta Radio station about her dislike for Jews.

I should have checked, I don't think that radio station exists, the is one I think in New York, and I did some further research, too late, but Dave Garver is the name of Clint Eastwood's character in "Play Misty for Me."

Another hoax? Apparently it is. I could not imagine her saying those things, or why, and it appears that she did NOT make them. "Judge not lest ye be judged"

Sunday Morning Musings ...............

I am watching a war flick, Alan Ladd is a paratrooper in England, they have now jumped and are somewhere, killing Germans, right and left. They seem to be Commandos. Now the Germans are killing them. "Thou Shalt Not Kill." What makes it right to KILL during wartime, or under what circumstances is it right, and why? Roosevelt declared WAR and that made it right or legal or what? Thou shalt not kill unless, there is a war, or you are a policeman or you are defending your home. Do the other Commandments have exceptions?

Should anyone start building an Ark? A whole lot of rain going on around the country, we had some street flooding around town here, and more rain today and tonight.

Alan Ladd just turned down an opportunity to be an officer, he wants to stay a Private, wonder what that is all about. Oh, he just punched a guy, the guy recognized him ... he ducked out real quick. The plot thickens.

Mike. I have known him for a number of years through mutual friends. I have always liked and admired him. He exhibits qualities I wish I had. I really don't know a lot about his background, but if he had been drafted into the Army, they would have sent him to Officers Candidacy School. If he had been on old time radio, he would have been Jack Armstrong. If he had gone to Hollywood he would have been a "leading man." I have been at a few parties where he was in attendance, and he enjoyed a good time. I would only perhaps see him once or twice a year, a few times at Ohio State football pre-game parties. He was one of a few true salesmen I have ever known, he had all those qualites. Mike got tired easily, reccently, and went to see his doctor. He is now taking Chemo and Radiation treatments. I can only imagine what he is going through, I went through the same treatments with my wife, so I am familiar with the procedures. Even though we were not close friends I felt a sadness when I heard the news. I have included him in my prayers at night, quite a few people will read this, please include "Mike" in your prayers tonight, He will know .......

Alan is getting ready to jump, he is a paratrooper, they are going to take an airfield back from the Germans. Looks like after much killing and fighting of all kinds, they have done it. In reality, he was only 5"6," but he seems taller on the screen. OMG, they are in the middle of a minefield, looks like the Germans are going to win this one. The English are just standing, frozen, in a minefirld, and the Germans want them to surrender, they have given them three minutes .... it does not look good. The movie is The Paratrooper.

PS- Alan Ladd is going to stay where he is in the British Paratroopers, even though he is an American and is going to think about becoming an officer, the bagpipes are playing and they fade away in to the smoke of the battle with him placing a burgandy beret, the headwear of the his unit, on a cross on a grave, of a friend. The battle was just over, how did they get people buried so fast. Right, it was a movie ..........

Hostess: Twinkies to return to shelves July 15

NEW YORK (AP) — Hostess is betting on a sweet comeback for Twinkies when they return to shelves next month.
The company that went bankrupt after an acrimonious fight with its unionized workers last year is back up and running under new owners and a leaner structure. It says it plans to have Twinkies and other snack cakes back on shelves starting July 15.
Based on the outpouring of nostalgia sparked by its demise, Hostess is expecting a blockbuster return next month for Twinkies and other sugary treats, such as CupCakes and Donettes. The company says the cakes will taste the same but that the boxes will now bear the tag line "The Sweetest Comeback In The History Of Ever."
"A lot of impostor products have come to the market while Hostess has been off the shelves," says Daren Metropoulos, a principal of the investment firm Metropoulos & Co., which teamed up with Apollo Global Management to buy a variety of Hostess snacks.

With my ADD I could not do this .........

A talented artist has created such incredibly realistic paintings its ART to believe they arent really photographs.

Scottish oil painter Claire Duguid, 32, spends anything up to three months at a time on each portrait - painstakingly capturing every tiny detail of the subjects face and appearance.

At a quick glance its hard to spot a single brush stroke but Claire says she stops just short of hyper-realism ensuring that her work still raises eyebrows but continues to look like a painting.

Depending on the demands of her clients and the intricacy of the painting each piece can command up to £6,000 - and they can be found on walls worldwide from the UK to Hong Kong and New York.

Maybe it's her youth...............

A lot of people think the only job of a caddie is to carry the bag. That couldn't be more wrong. A caddie is a swing coach, a mental coach, a voice of reason and persuasion and the person who makes sure, if you go on tilt, that things can smooth over so you can finish your round and not post some absurdly high number.

Jessica Korda obviously was not thinking about all those things during her third round at the U.S. Open. According to the Golf Channel's Kelly Tilghman, the 20-year-old LPGA player fired her caddie mid-round at Sebonack Golf Club, pulling her boyfriend in to loop for the remainder of her round. "Johnny, grab the bag, let's go," she said, according to AP.

Her caddie, Jason Gilroyed, used to loop for Cristie Kerr during a time when I caddied for a friend on the LPGA, so I spent time around Jason and can tell you he's not only a great caddie but a solid dude, so who knows what happened between the two.

The 20-year-old Korda said she had never fired a caddie mid-round before, but they had had some disagreements over the first nine, and she wasn't in the right state of mind to play well.

''I care about Jason a lot. He is a great guy,'' Korda said after her round. ''That's just how it happens sometimes in life. That was one of those things today that it just unfolded. It was very hard for me to do. I'm not that type of person to take these things really easily.''

She went on to fire a 36 on the back nine after posting 40 on the front. She stands tied for sixth at 1-over through three rounds.

This is also the second straight week we've had a situation involving a professional golfer and their caddie. Bubba Watson went off on his caddie last week at the Travelers Championship after making a triple-bogey on the 16th hole.

Comments on the Paula Deen situation .........

In the course of taking  a deposition on a Racial Discrimination lawsuit, she admitted using the "N" word in the presence of an individual who apparently was attempting to rob her at gunpoint. The first thing that occurred to me was why antagonize someone who has a gun on you, I personally would be calling him "Sir," But that was her choice. I understand that there are more than one lawsuit pending, all on discrimination grounds, and that her son is involved also. I find it hard to believe that a son of hers could also be a bigot.

I have never watched her show, so I cannot comment on her attitudes or comments on the show.

I also have to wonder how they grilled, coerced or tortured her to get her to reveal that she had used the "N" word, unless she was trying to let them, and the world know, she was tough, and took nothin off of nobody.

The news became public and she started losing sponsors, and more sponsors, and more sponsors. I can only assume that these large corporation had invested many millions of dollars on her image, and I personally find it difficult to believe that they were willing to throw her aside on that one incident, I feel they were aware of more, assumption on my part only.

It was a one time thing, many years ago, spoken hastily, at gunpoint. She had many tearful apologies, she showed remorse, regret, a one time thing.. Just because she was born and raised in the deep South, during a time period where negroes were grossly mistreated and maligned and considered second class citizens, none of that rubbed off on her.

Then, she has another opportunity to apologize, on Atlanta radio, and as inconceivable as it sounds, she took that opportunity to blame the Jews for all of her problems, they owned, ran, or controlled all of the companies that dropped her. She even admitted that "I will even use the same bathroom as a black person," to show how open minded she was.

The self proclaimed "Queen of Southern Cooking" has some problems, enough said.

‘Glow-in-the-dark’ Lamborghini seized by London police

If you're 24 years old and a member of Qatar's ruling family, what car would you drive around town? A 'glow-in-the-dark' Lamborghini Aventador, worth around $500,000, of course. But if you forget your driver's license and the proper insurance documents while navigating the streets of London, don't for one minute think the local police might offer you a royal pardon. Instead, they'll give you a ticket. And tow your one-of-a-kind supercar like it's a rusted '94 Honda Accord.

This particularly insane Lamborghini, which is rumored to glow-in-the-dark according to its creator, is thought to be owned by Nasser Al-Thani, a mere 24 year old with Qatari parents so wealthy they presumably own such things as floating skyscrapers, fur coats made from wooly mammoths, and an entire mansion filled with nothing but jelly beans.

The incident reportedly began by police noticing the attention-grabbing supercar had no front license plate. After stopping the car and quizzing the driver, the space-aged Lamborghini was taken aboard a flatbed truck to the impound lot. I doubt Nasser Al-Thani struggled for a ride home, however. This car is one of many oddly painted, ludicrously expensive sports cars the young man owns. Or perhaps this time he took the chromed helicopter, returning to his house full of Haribo.

I am not a bigot, but I don't like Jews .... pd

I wonder who she will dislike in her next interview? I can't believe she said that ... Don Rickles must be advising her .... glad they didn't ask her about the Pope, wonder who she voted for? "I will even use the same bathroom as a black person," said Paula Deen

Celebrity chef Paula Deen, embroiled in controversy this week over allegations of racism, added two cups of gasoline to the fire this morning when she blamed her troubles on Jewish people.

Deen, 66, was a guest of morning host Dave Garver on Atlanta radio station WTMI when she claimed “Jew executives” deliberately abandoned her in the wake of the controversy, which stemmed from a discrimination lawsuit filed by a former employee against her company.

The Georgia-born Southern-cooking maven is doing damage control in the media after admitting that she had used racial epithets in the past and had once planned a slavery-themed wedding. The ensuing backlash has led to Food Network dropping her show and several sponsors cutting ties.

When Garver asked Deen if she expected to return to the Food Network or to another network once the controversy died down, Deen said, “I don’t know, Dave. The whole situation is very stressful and very upsetting to me.

“I hosted one of the Food Network’s most popular shows. We had great ratings, great cookbooks, the fans loved me. But as soon as this N-word thing came up, the greedy Jew executives at the Food Network dropped me faster than a baked potato on a summer day.”

A shocked Garver responded: “I’m sorry, but did you say greedy Jew executives?”

“Yes I did, Dave,” Deen responded. “I made those Jews all this money and they still stabbed me in the back. As soon as it looked like their profits would be affected, they told me I was no longer needed. That’s Jew loyalty for ya'll.”

Deen also had harsh words for the companies that have ended their relationships with her.

“It is heartbreaking but not surprising to see these sponsors leave me,” she said. “Target, Walmart, (diabetes drug maker) Novo Nordisk, Caesars Entertainment, Smithfield Foods. What do all these companies have in common? They’re owned and run by Jews.”

Garver attempted to change course by bringing up Deen’s recent appearance on NBC’s Today show, where she said she never intended to hurt anyone.

“I thought you were being very sincere when you went on the Today show and apologized,” Garver said. “You cried and seemed remorseful. You even asked anyone without sin to cast the first stone at you.”

“I was genuine when I said I was sorry,” Deen said. “It’s funny that this whole problem comes from the N-word because I honestly have no problem with black people. I have black employees. I have a black friend. I will even use the same bathroom as a black person.

“It’s the Jews I can't stand. Not even my accountant is a Jew. I don’t think Seinfeld is funny. I'd even prefer an Oriental over a Jew any day.”

What goes around comes around - Ironic

ROCHESTER, MI—Hip-hop artist Marshall Mathers, a.k.a. Eminem, said he was left wholly terrified today after meeting his daughter Hailie’s new boyfriend Justin Denham, an 18-year-old who was reportedly raised on the rapper’s music.

Saying he could barely fathom the thought of Hailie, 17, with a man who ever enjoyed listening to, or was inspired by, his often misogynistic and violent lyrics, Eminem, 40, claimed he was disturbed from the second Denham said he was “a huge fan” of all of the rapper’s seven albums.

“Justin said I was his favorite artist when he was growing up, and now he wants to go out with my little girl,” said Eminem, telling reporters he didn’t even want to imagine what Denham’s views on relationships could possibly entail given his self-professed love of albums that include songs about mutilating women. “Honestly, I don’t really know what I’m supposed to do here. How am I supposed to let Hailie go out with a guy who says I was a huge influence on him and all of his friends?”

I spent some time with him a few years ago at a studio in New Jersey, which my Son owned. Eminem was to appear on an English TV show, "Top of the Pops" and at that time could not leave the country. My Son called and told me about it and invited me back for the shoot. At that time I had no idea who Eminem was, I thought he was shooting an M & M commercial. I met him, spent the day around him, made tea for him. He wanted herbal tea with honey. I fixed him a cup, he sipped it, set it down, later sipped it again and complained it was not hot enough. I fixed him another, served it to him, almost boiling, he sipped it, smiled, I know it hurt, it was really hot. He did some "nice" things during the day. In the list of things for "his" room we received from the BBC, M & M's. As per their request we had some lavish food catered in for them all, his band, Dido and her band, but they wanted Chicken McNuggets which we went out and got for them. I later found out her name was Dido and not Dildo. It was a big, fun shoot for the studio.

Who makes the most in Obama's White House?

By Roberta Rampton and Margaret Chadbourn

WASHINGTON (Reuters) - Twenty-two of President Barack Obama's top advisers make the top White House salary of $172,200 per year - but there is one official who earns 30 percent more.

It's not Chief of Staff Denis McDonough. Not Obama's senior adviser and close friend Valerie Jarrett. Not Cecilia Munoz, who is overseeing White House efforts on immigration reform, nor Lisa Monaco, who advises Obama on homeland security and counterterrorism.

The best-paid person of the 460 people who work at the White House is Seth Wheeler, a senior adviser at the National Economic Council, who is crafting Obama's strategy on housing finance.

One of the newest appointees, Wheeler earns $225,000, according to the annual White House report on its $37.9 million payroll released on Friday.

Wheeler has been detailed to the role from the Federal Reserve where the pay scale is higher, a White House official explained.

It also means he earns more than his boss, Gene Sperling, the director of the National Economic Council, who earns the White House limit of $172,200.

At the Fed, Wheeler was chief of staff for the Office of Financial Stability Policy and Research.

Weiner in Hot Pants

Anthony Weiner is on a tear. In the past few weeks, he’s been campaigning for New York City mayor everywhere from a Baptist church in Queens to a rally for marriage equality at the Stonewall Inn. He’s been pounding the pavement hard—and now, according to new polls, he’s the frontrunner in the race.

The catch? He’s doing it all in pairs of really, really bright pants.

At a press conference in the Bronx earlier this week (about free meals for city kids during the summer months), Weiner chose bright blue chinos, which he paired with his signature white shirt with rolled up sleeves and a printed green tie. And though they’re memorable, the pants (which are like Nantucket Reds, only blue) have been in heavy rotation. He wore them earlier this month to run up Fifth Avenue waving the Israeli flag as part of the Israel Day Parade.

At a rally for marriage equality at New York’s Stonewall Inn on Wednesday, Weiner opted for a more flamboyant pair of bright orange pants—paired this time with a brown belt, white shirt, and red tie. In a sea of rainbows, he stood out.

As the candidate's spokesperson, Barbara Morgan, said in an e-mail: "Anthony wants to lead the fashion capital of the world, so it's no surprise that he would make fashion forward trouser choices."

Dr. Warner Schlemmer, head  of Psychiatry at the New York Scientology Hospital, when quired about Weiner's attire stated, "Vell, it's a classical case, I hav seen it before on many occasions .... just think about it, his shirts are just normal, but the trousers draw attention to his lower extremeties. At one stop he made he took a banana from his left front pocket claiming it was his lunch. Veery interesting."

Woman has orgasms in her foot, and she's not faking it

The woman in the Woody Allen movie who said a doctor told her that her first orgasm was "the wrong kind" now has company.

A mortified 55-year-old in the Netherlands sought out medical help for the sexual sensations that overcame her up to six times a day, beginning in her left foot and reaching up to, well, where orgasms are supposed to occur.

A study team at Utrecht University has now labeled it the first instance of "foot orgasm syndrome," her case stemming from nerve damage that didn't allow the brain to distinguish stimulus from the foot and vagina.

An injection of anesthetic has tamed the highly inconvenient footgasms

No. Craig, I did not make it up ............ and I have no comments to make, at this time.

And, she drives race cars ....

SPARTA, Ky. (AP) — Danica Patrick doesn't care that Kyle Petty thinks she's better at getting attention than driving because she's heard it all before.

But if Petty's going to attack her, the NASCAR Sprint Cup rookie believes he should at least get his facts straight.

On Friday, Patrick responded to Petty's comments a night earlier on Speed's "Race Hub" program, in which the former Sprint Cup driver called her a "marketing machine" rather than a race car driver. Petty also doubted that Patrick would become a driver and insisted that she doesn't race as well as she qualifies.

Patrick's statistics suggest otherwise. On average she's finishing almost six spots higher (25.8) than she starts (32nd), which she noted by saying, "those who watch know I can't qualify for crap. The race goes much better."

That likely won't stop Petty, the 53-year-old son of seven-time Cup champion Richard Petty and an eight-time race winner on NASCAR's premier circuit, from criticizing Patrick.

Danica Patrick answers a question during a news conference for the NASCAR Sprint Cup auto race at Ke …
Now an analyst for TNT and Fox/Speed, Petty has periodically taken jabs at Patrick, a former IndyCar Series driver who now drives the No. 10 Chevy for Stewart-Haas Racing. The 31-year-old Patrick is 27th in points in her first full Cup season, which follows an open wheel career highlighted by a fuel-mileage victory in 2008 in Motegi, Japan.

On Thursday night, Petty seemed to elaborate on his views during the show. While he understands the mass appeal of Patrick, who has been featured in racy TV ads for sponsor Go Daddy and was IndyCar's most popular driver for several years, her driving skills don't justify the hype in his opinion.

"That's where I have a problem, where fans have bought into the hype of the marketing, to think she's a race car driver," he said. "She can go fast, and I've seen her go fast. She drives the wheels off it when she goes fast."

Asked if she has learned to race, Petty continued, "She's not a race car driver. There's a difference. The King always had that stupid saying, but it's true, 'Lots of drivers can drive fast, but very few drivers can race.' Danica has been the perfect example of somebody who can qualify better than what she runs. She can go fast, but she can't race."

Patrick won the pole and finished eighth in the season-opening Daytona 500 but has admittedly struggled this season. She said she's working toward that point where things level out but isn't there yet.

The main thing is keeping her team, sponsor and fans happy — not giving a second thought to Petty's comments.

"I really don't care," she said during a news conference at Kentucky Speedway. "It's true that there are plenty of people who say bad things about me. I read them. People want me to die. At the end of the day, you get over that stuff and trust you are doing a good job."

Asked what it will take to quiet her critics, Patrick's response brought some laughs.

"Do you think I will silence my naysayers?" she asked. "You don't. I'm sure everybody has them. You know who believes in you. That's what matters."

Former boss Dale Earnhardt Jr. has shown his faith in Patrick, giving her a chance to transition to stock cars over three years in the Nationwide Series at JR Motorsports. Earnhardt defended Patrick and called her a tough competitor who works hard and said she wouldn't have a ride if she couldn't stay with the pack or finished last every week.

"I have to disagree with Kyle," Earnhardt said. "She has run some really good races. On every occasion she is outrunning several guys out on the circuit. If she was not able to compete, I think you might be able to say Kyle has an argument.

"But she's out there running competitively and running strong on several accounts. I think that she has got a good opportunity and a rightful position in the sport to keep competing and she just might surprise even Kyle Petty."

Police said, "We hope they don't make a habit of it"

VATICAN CITY (AP) — A Vatican official has been arrested by Italian police for allegedly trying to illegally bring 20 million euros ($26 million) in cash into the country from Switzerland with a private jet.

Prosecutor Nello Rossi says Monsignor Nunzio Scarano is accused of corruption and slander stemming from the plot and was being held at a Rome prison.

He was allegedly asked by friends to bring back the money that had been given to financier Giovanni Carenzio in Switzerland. Scarano is supposed to have asked Giovanni Zito, a military official, to bring the money back by jet, avoiding customs.

Scarano was allegedly due to pay Zito a commission of 600,000 euros for the work. He paid only an initial installment of 400,000 euros before being arrested.

I sleep better knowing we have agents such as AC, as I call him, on guard, in Africa. Appropriate he used Comic Sans as a typestyle. I can't imagine anyone taking it seriously.

We're loved wherever we go ...... yea, right!

JOHANNESBURG (AP) — Hundreds of protesters marched to the U.S. embassy in South Africa on Friday in a peaceful protest against the impending visit by President Barack Obama.

The demonstrators opposed U.S. policy on Cuba, the war in Afghanistan, global warming and other issues. The rally in Pretoria was organized by trade unionists and members of the South African Communist Party.

The protesters want to raise public awareness and warn U.S. citizens about human rights violations committed by the Obama administration, which includes the non-closure of the Guantanamo Bay prison holding terrorism suspects, said campaign coordinator Mbuyiseni Ndlozi.

"Their administration's government is not welcome, and is being received with antagonism," Ndlozi said. "Therefore they'll have to rethink the standards by which they hold their government."

Protesters carried signs that read: "No, You Can't Obama," a message inspired by the "Yes We Can" campaign slogan adopted by the president during his first run for election.

Obama and his family were expected to arrive in South Africa later Friday as part of a tour of three African countries. Their three-day trip includes a visit to Cape Town's Robben Island, where former President Nelson Mandela spent 18 of his 27 years imprisoned by the previous white racist South African government.

Demonstrators staged a similar protest outside the Parliament building in Cape Town where Obama's record on human rights and trade relations in Africa were questioned.

"He's coming here to plunder Africa and South Africa," protester Abdurahman Khan said. "He's coming for the wealth and resources, for the gold and the diamond mines, while the majority of Africans and South Africans are suffering."

Protesters also plan to rally Saturday at the University of Johannesburg's Soweto campus, where Obama will address students and receive an honorary law degree, and on Sunday at the University of Cape Town

I understand some of it .........

I went away to college at The Citadel in Charleston, South Carolina, in 1950, an Ohio boy living in the deep South. It was a shock, in a way, first thing in the morning, every morning, blaring on the PA system in all the buildings, "DIXIE," loud and clear by a marching band, accompanied by "rebel yells" and other Civil War shouts. I was definitely in the South.

Freshmen, "pleebs," Duwilleys," and other names, denoted a first year cadet, the lowest of the low. Walk only in a "brace" position, square all corners, eat squared meals, stop and come to attention, often. My second "demerit" I received for eating peanuts at a football game. Pleebs don't eat anything at football games. For that I was told to don my sweat suit, raincoat and heavy wool topcoat, and report to the shower. I was stood flat against the wall, on tiptoes, wearing all those clothes, a pencil was placed behind my neck, the showers were turned on hot, to produce steam, and I got to stand there, that way, for about fifteen minutes, seemed like hours. When I was told to leave, my shoes were bent at the toe where I was standing on tip toes, I could walk, but  not well. That was for eating a peanut.

My first one came in the mess hall. Some food was served on large platters, others in bowls. When either a bowl or a platter was empty, the nearest pleeb would hold it up so one of the colored servers would know it was empty and take it to the kitchen and get it refilled. All of our servers were women of color.

A platter near me was empty, I reached out and got it and held it up. No one noticed. I saw a server near by. "Mam," I said. All heads turned to me, shocked looks on their faces, they were all from the South.

"What did you call her, Duwilley?"

"Mam?"

"She is a n_____ ," came his reply. My first demerits. I did not, personally, use the term, it was not in my vocabulary, but I learned to keep my mouth shut.

This was 1950, Paula Deen was born in 1947, she grew up, in Georgia, in this atmosphere. I had friends from Albany, Georgia. Old habits die hard.

Jim Bridenstine: Obama, Joe Biden Unfit To Lead

Jun 6, 2013
Speech
Floor Speech from June 4th 2013

“Mr. Speaker, the President’s Justice Department sold weapons to narco-terrorists south of our border who killed one of our finest.

The President’s State Department lied about Benghazi with false information provided by the White House.

The President’s Attorney General authorized spying on a Fox News journalist and his family for reporting on a North Korean nuclear test.

The President’s Justice Department confiscated phone records of the Associated Press because they reported on a thwarted terrorist attack.

The President’s Treasury Department uses the IRS to target political opposition.

The President’s Health and Human Services Secretary pressures the insurance companies, she is supposed to regulate, to promote ObamaCare, which is the same law she uses to force citizens to pay for abortion inducing drugs that are against their religious liberties.

Mr. Speaker, the President’s dishonesty, incompetence, vengefulness, and lack of moral compass lead many to suggest he is not fit to lead. The only problem is that his Vice President is equally unfit and even more embarrassing.”

-Congressman Jim Bridenstine

Come on, Jim, spit it out, say what's on your mind, don't hold back, tell it like it is ........

More on Francois pronounced Franswa

I had a bar here in town many years ago, and one customer we got to know was Francois, pronounced Franswa. He was a wig maker and had a shop nearby. He was nice, pleasant, and would stop in for coffee in the mornings and talk with Mary and Terry, two gals who worked for me.

Occasionally, he would stop in the evening, get a pitchur of beer, Strohs, our most popular draft beer at that time, and sit back, relax, and enjoy the evening.

We had two department stores in town at that time, Carrolls and Kings, each had window trimmers, who were openly gay, both  very nice and regular customers. We also had good food, steaks and burgers cooked over a charcoal fire, at that time, we had the only onein town, so nightly, we did a great food business, only beer, no license for anything harder. Anyway, the three hit it off well.

Bud Crow was in eating one evening, he is another whole blog, and we were talking with him. Bud was a big  man, did heavy construction work during the week, and return to Newark on the weekends to his "place" which had a little "wagering" and a "girl or two" .... well, Newark was a "wide open" town in those days. The phone rang, and it was Yvonne from a nearby bar, which was in a cellar, and catered to the negro drinkers in town. She needed some change, so Bud and I took some down to her.

Bud and I were sitting at the bar, talking with her, and down the steps comes this vision of lovileness in a flowing kelly green shimmering dress, white spiked heel shoes, and a white boa type fur thing, I looked at Bud, he said, "Yea, it is." He/she lit at the bar and had a drink. after a while one of the patrons asker her/him to dance, she/he accepted, as they were dancing, word got back to the man dancing with the "vision" about who he/she was dacing with, bedlahm  followed, a heck of a fight broke out.

Bud and I ducked out and left the mayham behind. Francois came in for coffee the following Monday, things were back to normal.

Man leaves $10,000 tip after meal of burgers and fries

Bob Erb and his wife were traveling through Saskatchewan, Canada when they stopped into the Old West Express diner in Chamberlain.

The couple met the friendly owner Clifford Luther, chatted, and eventually learned that the restaurateur had just hours earlier received the devastating news that his daughter was diagnosed with cancer.

Erb said, “I had mentioned you know that I had lost my 26 year old son almost 5 years ago so I understand you know the anxiety and worry.” The out-of-towner was also on a somber voyage, traveling to bury his father’s ashes in the family cemetery.

After doing so, 3 days later Erb and his wife traveled back to the Old West Express diner. Erb explained, “I said, ‘Hey, I didn’t get a chance to stop in a bank machine, can I write you a check,’

I said, ‘for lunch?’ ‘No, no, no,’ he says, ‘I’ll buy you lunch.’

I said, ‘No, no, no,’ I said, ‘I’ll leave you a check and a tip.’” Erb paid for the meal of burgers and fries.

When Luther saw that the check was written out for $10,000 he became overwhelmed with emotion and was amazed by the kindness of this stranger who had become his friend.

"He said, ‘Go out and see your daughter make sure you get out there to see her,’” Luther said, adding, “It just shows how good people can be you know, how, how he had good fortune and he was able to pass it on and I believe he’s a very generous man.”

In November of 2012 Bob Erb won a lottery jackpot of $25 million and has given around $7 million to various charities and people he felt could use help. Luther will put the money to use soon and planning a trip to see his daughter in Vancouver.

I had a similar incident happen to me years ago when I had the Draft House here in Newark. A man who had become a "regular" came in one morning and told us he had received news that his Mother, who lived in  New Mexico, was gravely ill. The banks were not open yet, and he did not have enough ready cash to take a cab to the airport .... I gave him $100 ..... I never saw him again. I learned then, never loan money to transvestite, cross dressing, gay, wig maker from New Mexico named Francois, pronounced Franswa. (learn more about him in the next blog)

Weiner apologizes "I'll show them"

Anthony Weiner launched his mayoral candidacy with an apology tour for sending pictures of his privates out over Twitter. "I apologized to the people that supported me," he told WNYC after starting his run. "I have apologized many, many times to my wife, and frankly I know that part of this process is going to be doing a lot of apologizing."

He even expressed "regret" for sending anonymous mailers in his first race, for City Council in 1991, that critics said "played the race card" by attacking an opponent's ties to local black figures. (A private apology note from the time was later unearthed.) But there's one group that shouldn't hold its breath for a Weiner apology: Palestinians.

TinC Weiner also indicated that he had asked Paula Deen to join his campaign, "Weiner and Deen, the APOLOGY team." When asked about the major issues facing the city, he replied, "There is only one, my apology for showing my privates on Twitter, these are no longer "political stops" they are "apology stops." He indicated that his entire campaign will be devoted to apologizing.  "I want to show, no not that word, we will expose, no not that word either, we will reveal, no, ah, I want all the voters to see, no, ah, well,  as Paula would say, it happened a long, no, way back when, aw hell, just vote for me, you've seen what I've got, oh God, I can't say anything .... "You've seen his front, now, he's back"

Where there's smoke ............

I think that those who still support her, are not aware of all the information available. They assume that these are from her past, and that she is no longer racist. They seem to forget the current lawsuits, and Walmart and the companies who have dropped her, have invested millions if not billions on her image. They don't drop her on a whim. She made 11 million last year on her endorsements, so did they. The evidence is "overwhelming" for them to take the steps they have. Below is from the Huffington Post.

It turns out that Paula Deen may not have just been racist twice (first when she used the n-word to describe a black man who held her at gunpoint, then when she wanted tap-dancing black men dressed as slaves to cater a wedding). She may have been racist at least three, or even four times, according to a lawsuit filed by her former employees. (Maybe — gasp — she might have been racist at All The Times?)

The Rainbow/PUSH Coalition, a prominent civil rights group, told The Huffington Post that Deen’s employees had repeatedly experienced serious racial discrimination — the kind that actually violates federal equal opportunity law:

[An attorney for Rainbow/PUSH] said one current and two former employees told him white employees are routinely paid more than black employees and are promoted more quickly. A black man who had threatened to go to the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission said Deen’s brother told him “you don't have any civil rights here,” Rainbow/PUSH said in a press release.

Rainbow/PUSH said it has “found evidence of systemic racial discrimination and harassment” by Deen and that “a family member consistently referred to a black cook as ‘my little monkey.’”

Patillo, who conducted interviews in Savannah where Deen’s restaurant is located, said current and former employees told him that Deen “preferred white and light-skinned blacks to work with customers” and that darker-skinned blacks were relegated to “back-of-the-house operations.”

If this is true (and keep in mind, these are still allegations at this point), this makes Deen’s admitted use of the “n-word” more than just the jokes she claimed they were in her deposition — it’s systematic and abhorrent racism.
