To whom it may concern ....

Hi, my name is CM, I am a cat, and proud of it. Oh, the CM stands for Cat's Meow, so they shortened it to CM. I have seen the above commercial and I, for one, am offended by it. We cats are all smart, aloof, standoffish, and independent, and, we do have feelings.

Do you, as a "people" really think that a circular movement, under a piece of circular yellow cloth is really going to amuse us. Now, I admit, that some of us to impress our "people" might act like we find it amusing and we do that for a reason. We are fed by those we amuse, they occasionally give us treats, sometimes we are rewarded with fresh tuna, so we do what we can to amuse them.

But please, don't be so naive as to think that this mechanical device is really amusing, it is, in fact, actually, offensive. Think about it. A supposedly intelligent "adult" cat owner just spent $19.99  plus shipping and handling, probably comes at least to $29.00, for a couple of pieces of cloth, a little motor a ball and a piece of wire, and, I repeat, and, for additional S & H, they get two of them. Why two? They have one cat, who is supposedly watching this little ball go round and round, no way we can watch two of them.

We, as a cat population, will do our share, we will paw, jump and move our heads in timing with the movement of the ball, and be in our "cute" mode, but please, we are offended if you think we are intellectually stimulated by that movement. Trust me, you get much more out of it than we do.

Sincerely,
C.M.
