I poured a fresh cup of coffee and went outside and took a seat on the front porch, checked out the day and the sky and gave an upward glance and said to myself, "Good job." Meaning that He had created a beautiful morning for me to enjoy. Beautiful blue sky, a few white puffy clouds, bright sun, nice temperature, He did a good job on this morning.

Hard to believe, as I sit here in Newark, Ohio, on this gorgeous morning, all that is going on in the world. I'm not even going in to them, we all know what they are, so just won't think of them for a while, and enjoy this morning.

Yesterday, one of the great joys of life, I received some "great" communicative looks from one Miss Emma, my Great Granddaughter. Babysitting for Miss Emma and her big sister, Miss Brooklyn, makes our "highlight reel" every time we do it. Those "looks" from Miss Emma, who is only months old, magical when they happen. I am not sure what I have done in my life that He has granted me this time to experience the sheer joy of experiencing great grandchildren, but I thank Him for that. Kids are good, grandkids are great, but that next level is a whole new experience.

News of the Day: I have to delve deeper into a situation in New York City, something that City Council did last night that seems to be causing an exodus of the natives. New York "Facebookers" indicate they are going to be looking and "moving out." The main one I found was the "search and seize" or some such thing, not sure if it was voted in or out, but something happened, will have to do more research.

Bus crashes, gassing of citizens, civil unrest, dirty politicians, well not dirty, just, Ok, well, dirty, "politics as usual," regardless of the level, just the usual.

For many years, I forget when it started, I used to keep a $5 bill folded up and stashed in my billfold. Then a $10, a $20, grew to a $50, more recently a $100. Not comfortable with thr $100. I really am in a dilemma. I would feel more comfortable with $500, emergency money, but I don't want to carry that much around, and I really think in today's economy $1000 is a more realistic figure for "backup" money. I had an acquaintance years ago, who carried 5 .... $1000 bills around with him.

Right now, here in Newark, the world is good .... gonna keep it that way for a while, have another cup of coffee ... and they check out the news ......
