A police executive in charge of dispersing bulletproof vests to officers accidentally attached a Microsoft Excel file to an email that contained personal information including height, weight — and cup sizes.
The mistake happened when Commander Dwayne Love notified officers that their bulletproof vests were ready to be picked up, police sources said.
Love sent the email containing the personal information to top executives, some of whom forwarded it to supervisors, who, in turn, sent it to officers.
Two of the women, who say they've been teased about the disclosure, have filed formal grievances against the department, said Mark Diaz, president of the Detroit Police Officers Association.
“It’s an unfortunate event,” Diaz said. “I feel bad for these officers; a lot of people are self-conscious about those things.
“This was a completely unnecessary and careless act,” Diaz said. “Chief Craig is in the process of evaluating the executive team, and I’m quite certain he’ll find that this kind of carelessness has no place in the Detroit Police Department.”
