A stranger has moved in with us, uninvited, but here anyway. Maybe it's the time of year, Fall, or something, but "age" seems to be more evident this time of the year.
I keep some crossword puzzles around the place. Not "hard" ones, I like to complete them, but not too easy either. As the days go by, I don't always recognize the characters that are being written, they are getting a little "shaky." I have always prided myself in my printing, since Mr. Hoffman taught me "Drafting" in high school. I am doing the printing, but it is not mine, anymore. Odd, to know I did it, but it is not mine.
In the news, about the same. Colorado is flooding, hundreds unaccounted for, and more rain today. Such a beautiful state, Boulder is such a lovely town.
Now we have a hurricane threatening Mexico. I suppose all those manufacturing plants we moved down there are in jeopardy. Prices will escalate. Speaking of that. Marilyn bought two Hershey bars yesterday afternoon, and we have cut way, way back on items like that. Last night watching someone play football, got my Hershey bar, my bag of stick pretzels, they go well together. I started to take the paper wrapper off the candy bar ... they used to rip off. The new ones don't have a seam. It would not tear, I could NOT get it opened, I tried everything. I finally had to get a pair of scissors, cut the top off, and then cut the whole length to get to the candy. Viva la Mexico. They are apparently so used to wrapping drugs that it carries over into general manufacturing. Hershey Plant Manager Hector Gonzales tried to "smuggle" the first bars across the border, was surprised when he found out it was not necessary.
Obama said something about the economy, a "backslide" or something, he probably would have gotten more attention if he had talked about football. Many years ago I predicted he would someday be president, all because of his "charisma." I was right. His charisma appeals to me know, well, to be honest, like Paula Dean appeals to me. I could not get to the controller fast enough this morning, there she was, crying, somewhere making an appearance. Let's make her the Ambassador to Syria .... if anything would teach them a lesson, a few days of her, and they would be begging for mercy, they would call UPS and send those "bombs" wherever we wanted them to go.
I had a dream once, I was a prisoner somewhere, being tortured, and each day at three I would be locked in a room with Paula Dean, Joan Rivers, Hillary Clinton and Barbara Walters. I told all I knew before they even sat down.
