Thousands will attend football games today, tailgate before, party after. Thousands will attend races today, a carefree country will party on. We'll debate the quality of football teams, is Alabama really that good? How far down should Oregon drop in the polls.

Some will take a few moments out of their lives to remember our Veterans, those who have "served" their country. Some will perhaps visit the thousands of wounded vets, still in hospitals, mending, trying to get their lives back in prospective again. Some are very old, some showing the scars of a war they fought in. I doubt that many will question the reason for the war, or what is it that brings about a war, where men, who do not know each other, possibly on foreign soil, try to kill each other, for honor, for country, etc., etc., etc.

"Thank You for your Service." This will be uttered many times this weekend, "Thank You for your Service." Something like "Happy Birthday," "Hey, happy anniversary." "Well done, my friend, nice job." All "good"
things to say at the appropriate time. A little 3 x 5 card filed in the mental file box of the mind, with dividers for Lunches, Phone Numbers, Dinners, Good Things to Say, etc., etc., etc.

I hope a few attending those games and races today take a second to say a little prayer for those in the Philippines, who died, have no food, no water, no future, or the homeless in this country, those without food in this country, without jobs, without homes, without a future. They may announce a "Moment of Silence" for those unfortunate ones, "Thanks for your Service."

Anyone really know what that means? My Grandfather, my Father, my Brother, Myself, my two Sons, all thank you for your kind words.
