I have watched Ben Matlock shows all my life. I remember hearing his "Football" story, so many years ago. Then the Sheriff, and then Ben, I think they started in 1986, but seems like they have been around longer. I am watching one right now, on this Sunday morning, the second one I have watched today, and with all of them I have seen over all those years, I have not seen either one of these two before. Seems hard to believe that is possible, shows I have not seen of old Ben. Whenever I eat a hot dog there is a ritual I go through, facial and lip expressions, Ben enjoyed hot dogs and I have to emulate him when I eat them. He enjoyed a very long career.
If we have a catastrophe in this country, thanks to TV, we live, eat, sleep and breathe that tragedy. An event happened in the Philippines that was as tragic as any we have had. Thousands killed, total devastation, and thanks to the Internet, I get some coverage, have not seen much on TV. I guess we are sending some aid in the form of ships, etc., and there probably will be some additional "efforts" made. Maybe there is no more we can do, and, it wasn't in the good old US of A.
I guess tragedies have always been with us, but thanks to TV we can see it "live" and in depth and on and on, till the next "one" happens. It just seems, to me, like they are happening with more frequency and more devastating than they used to be. You can almost bet that this will be a "devastating" Winter, blizzards, snow storms, freezing weather, gonna be a bad one. I think I can predict a "storm" occurring in Washington, not of the weather type, but of a political nature. I think a political "earthquake" with a 7 to a 9 magnitude will happen in the next three years, that will effect the lives of us all. I think we are experiencing the "lull before the political storm." An unprecedented event.
