We were driving around town today. Marilyn bought some "marked down" watermelon pieces the other day at Walmart, got home and found they had charged her the full price, so, took her there and she got her $3 refund, and at the same time she got her "FREE" ladies razor.
We walked out of the store, and it was raining, felt good walking in the rain, but the heat and steam drifting up from the asphalt was stifling. Then we drove to her her FREE movie at the video store.
There were lightening flashes.
Made me wonder. Why, and of what use is the information collected by the weather bureau and local TV stations, the number of lightning flashes in our area. Why do they collect that? "OMG there were five hundred and thirty two lightening strikes in "Central Ohio." To me, that is totally useless information.
Why not count the clouds in the sky? Call your local station and let them know how many leaves are on your trees, and let them know when you mow your grass.
I mentioned the lightening thing to my wife. Her answer to the collecting of the lightening information, "Because they can." That is probably why.
