My first ball point ..............

Don't know what made me think of this, but w a y  back when, probably mid 40's, my Mom brought something home for me that she had been given by a pharmaceutical salesman that had stopped by Dad's office. It was new, hee had never seen one, called a "ball point pen."

I took it to school the next day, showed it all around, and then something happened, the teacher had to go check with the principal to see if I was allowed to use it in class or not. Up to then we had always used pencils. Sometimes we had to write a paper in pen, and they had to determine if a ball point was acceptable instead of the usual "fountain pen."

I am thinking that my next "ink" paper I had to do with the fountain pen rather than my new ball point. It was a top and bottom with the ball point in one end, and the other part fit the ball point part and  made about a four of five inch pen. Blue ink as I recall.

Shortly after that ball points were everywhere and still are..............
