Made it to another Friday ... Thank YOU!

Caleb got me up right at 8 today, made coffee, he got two "treats" and then we did our morning walk. The dew on my bare feet was cold this morning. I always walk him through the grass and do it barefooted. I think it is good for me feet, and walking barefoot through grass, just something pleasant about it.

News seems scarce this morning, a few people shot and killed in Columbus overnight, but nothing new about that. I;m sure that happens in other cities every night. Always makes me wonder what "ingredients" were involved in the Zimmerman case that made it stand out?

Rather nice to have the big news of the day surround the birth of a baby.

Helen Forrest is singing "The Man I Love" with the Benny Goodman orchestra, I love the old music, takes me right back in time. Walmart has "lists" printed of school supplies needed for the children to get for all of the schools in the area. I think the only thing new that I got, way back then, was some new "school clothes." They had to be taken off as soon as I got home and in to my "play clothes."

Speaking of schools, when did it start that politicians had anything to do with the school system. I thought that was what the School Board, the Superintendent and the Principal (pal because he is my pal) always remembered that also. Now the president and down has input into education, when did that happen, and why. I remember the state having input, but not some "knowledgless" politician, they just want to get their hands in everything.

Speaking of politicians, how can ANYONE be against showing an ID of some kind, to vote. "Si Senora, I be a US of A citizen, you betcha boy, I be a good merican."  I remember a day gone by also, when to cash a check, they wrote your Social Security number on the check. Now it is sacred. If I am not mistaken, though, I think your "Service Number" in the armed forces is your SS number, not sure about that. "Name, Rank and Serial Number," if captured, now, if captured, "Sir, my name is Joe Dooley, I am a BM3, but my SS number is confidential."
