There are some good ones still around .....

I got an email the other day ................. from a Sears Store, in Hanover, Massachusetts for something I bought and charged, for $37.97. I live in Ohio, way far away .......... We checked all the numbers, and none of them were mine, so not too worried, but sent off this reply.

"Not sure what this is about. I live in Ohio. Someone is using some of my information ... have NO idea what this is about. It is my email, nothing else relates to me .......... "

Lo and behold - wonders of all wonders ............. I got an email today ...........

Subject: Sorry for the mixup:

Hello Mr. Dooley ,

My name is Tim Rowe and this note is to assure you that the e-receipt sent to you was just a mixup. The purchase was made by Joe Dooley in Abington , MA. and your e-mail address somehow got tied to his phone number causing the e-receipt to be sent to you in error.

Contacted the purchaser today and he confirmed the purchase on his Mastercard 3/18.

I apologize for the mixup and will contact the appropriate parties to get his number severed from your e-mail.

Thank you ,

Tim Rowe

My reply to him ...............

Mr. Rowe ..........
I sincerely thank you for the reply and your explanation of the problem. In my youth I thought that I, and my name, were unique. Now, eighty years later, and especially with the advent of the Internet,  I am finding that there are many with the same name. Your very prompt reply not only relieves my mind, but I have been a Sears shopper for many years, I am confident that with such dedicated employees, such as yourself, Sears will live on and on. Thank you again.
