Problems, we ain't got no problems ........

What problems do we really have in this country?

Probably number one is jobs, if everyone was working there would be no need for welfare, no food stamps, no homeless, because everyone would be

So what is our big problem, what gets all the attention, guns, because guns kill people. Why aren't computers a problem, they probably do as much damage as anything. A guy spends hours in front of his computer, watching pornography  playing games by the hour, possibly does a few drugs, takes his gun and goes out and kills someone, or a whole bunch of people, and the gun gets the blame.

I don't think that hunger is a problem, or it shouldn't be, food stamps, food banks, churches giving out food.  Our county has agencies for everything, many different ones perform the same service, it's a large industry and a major employer, and many of them just have people sitting my a phone, waiting to help people for one thing or another.

If we had a lot more jobs, what would they produce. I always heard that need creates jobs. I remember having a conversation with the man who owns "As Seen on TV." A group of us were standing around chatting, and everyone was coming up with what they felt was a million dollar idea that he could produce and sell for them. He listened to them all. Then he said something I will never forget. "Is there a NEED for it?" If there was enough need, he would manufacture, market and sell. The need came first.

I am not optimistic about the future of our country. I remember the tone of the country in the 40's, pride, pride in those producing and pride in those protecting, genuine pride, proud to be an American. I feel none of that today, I see none of that today.

The cause for that I will leave up to you. I have my own  opinion. I see small American flags as lapel pins on politicians and some businessmen, but their presence there does not seem genuine, "it looks good, but I am not sure what it means."

Veterans display genuine patriotism, they have made a sacrifice for their country. Even if it is just giving up a few years of their lives, they served. They deserve our respect.

In some respects, technology can be blamed. I think that technology can be blamed, in part, for the escalating medical costs. Just look at the expensive equipment that your hospital is required to have. Alzheimer is now a leader in taking lives, why, because of advances, people live longer, so there are more old, and Alzheimer's takes the old. I think that's ironic.
