football ... thets whut it is ... played in the cow pasture

Football ... what it was .... wuz football

FOOTBALL .... a phenomenon if there ever was one. What is it about football that makes it so popular?  Some of the sports radio talk shows have been discussing it. It has grown in popularity at a tremendous rate. I did some research many years ago, for my brother, who was doing his Doctoral Thesis on the subject of .... Teaching Sports to high school students. Millions of students attend all sporting events, but know little about the sport.

This was 60 plus years ago. We delved into all aspects of sports. It has all changed since then. Students of all ages and sexes, could understand football. You move the ball from here to there, easy to understand, for anyone.

All the talk shows had "experts" who analyzed, why the popularity. I think I have the answer to its popularity. TV could make more money on it than any other sport. If you think the games are not TV shows, the OPENING GAME of Thursday Night Football, which  they have been advertising all Summer. It was a TV show, singing, dancing, another horrible rendition of the National Anthem. The PRE GAME is what it is all about, what game, oh, you mean after the entertainment .... yea, well, I didn't watch much of that, but, the show before hand was great.

How many football games have you seen over the years with practically empty stadiums. TV doesn't care, they make their  $$$$$$$$$$  on advertising, no gate money, they are not even involved with that.

Simple answer, football is good for television ..... and ...... they have TOLD YOU, over the years, how great the game is.........
