Kinda rainy and gloomy in Nerk this morning, raining, Caleb didn't want his walk this morning, opened the door, one step out, one step back, and back to bed. Watching the end of a James Bond, "Diamonds are Forever," an old one, early Vegas scenes which I can relate to. Even has Jimmy Dean. Bert Saxby just "bit the dust." And Jill St. John, admired her for a long time. I almost went to one of her weddings. She married the singer Jack Jones, and I worked with his Uncle at the Primm. He went to the wedding and it didn't quite work out, but I almost went with him. Closest I ever got to Jill. Jack Jones was the son of Alan Jones, singer and also did quite a few movies.
I was chatting in Walmart yesterday with another customer who I had gotten to know somewhat over the years, and during the conversation, offhandedly, he asked me, "What do you think of the job that Obama is doing?" That set me back a bit, did not have a ready answer. Finally, and I was not aware I even knew the information, I told him, "About the same way I feel about Frank Tasco."
His reply, "Who the hell is Frank Tasco?"
"Well, I know his name, know where he is, what he does, and nothing more. Have no idea how his company is doing, but it exists, I see evidence that they are around, but I really know nothing about him at all. The company he runs is in East Hanover, New Jersey, I know, because I've been there often and seen the building. Other than that, I have no knowledge of anything else that is going on in his life. That is about the same as Obama, I know he is there, have no idea what he is doing, but I know the country exists and where it is, just like Nabisco."
"Huh," he said and walked away, kinda shaking his head, I did hear him mutter though, "Frank Tasco."
