Eventful morning so far, a plethora of topics. On my morning barefoot walk with Caleb, that grass and dew are cold this morning. Friday is always a bad morning for my walk. They mow on Thursday, I take all precautions and do my best, but I track grass all over the place. Its good for exercising though, I have to get the vacuum out and do the cleaning.
Another event of monumental proportions today. Everytime I purchase coffee filters, those white basketey things that hold the coffee in the pot, there are so many. I generally feel that the supply of them will far outlast me, but once again, I am down to my last one, so He has let me live through another "filter cycle."
It is the second day of August, that is difficult to believe. Each year goes by a little faster. A lady ahead of us in line at the checkout at Walmart had a basket FULL of items, all back to school stuff for her grandson. She even had to buy hand wipes, they were on her list. I didn't see the total but it had to be $25 or so. I think we used to have to supply pencils, everything else was supplied by the school.
I remember after day one, taking the books home and covering them .......
Excuse the interruption, along with an earlier post, at this moment, I can almost guarantee that my computer is being monitored by someone .... doing funny things .... same as yesterday and many days before, right at 9:00 AM ... it has a mind of it's own right now ... it is taking me a long time to do these few lines ... some characters are reluctant to produce a character on the screen ..... and it is doing .... odd things .... going to pause here a moment ..... hello, whoever you are ... good morning ....
It is a few minutes later, had a cup of coffee, I think THEY have gone ........
The books. Stores sold book covers, but I think my Mom and I always made them out of grocery bags, good heavy sturdy brown paper. You could write on it and the cover lasted all year. I remember it was always like winning the lottery, "a new book" .... never used, like finding gold. And, we carried them, regardless of the weather, as Martha Tilton is now singing on my music channel ..... "I Wonder" ... how did we get by without backpacks? Never saw one in my 12 years of school, except "on the trail."
Thomas Jefferson said in 1802: "I believe that banking institutions are more dangerous to our liberties than standing armies."
"The democracy will cease to exist when you take away from those who are willing to work and give to those who would not."-- Thomas Jefferson
"When in danger or in doubt, run in circles, scream and shout." .... jbd
"When once a job you have begun, do no stop till it is done. Whether the task be great or small, do it well, or not at all." .... Anon
Insanity: doing the same thing over and over again and expecting different results. - Albert Einstein
Television is one daylong commercial interrupted periodically by inept attempts to fill the airspace in between them.If you can't start a fire, perhaps your wood is wet ....
