My statement was taken out of context. We hear this often. Joan Rivers just stated her comment was taken out of context. All politicians seem to have their statements taken out of context. I don't think there is any defense for it. All you have to do is read the above definition, it is itself very confusing.
"I don't like blacks in the Glidden line of gloss paints," the Senator disclosed. I did find out though, that there are "experts" ... used by speech writers who proofread speeches with the thought of removing possible comments that could be taken ........... out of context.
