SMI - 8/16/2014

More riots in Missouri, Missouri of all places, the heartland of America, and, as often happens, apparently we are now learning ..... "the rest of the story." However, "Summer Rioting" is not new, been happening all of my life. Good opportunity to stock up on items for the Fall and Winter.

If you are not following the Little League World Series you are missing out of some great, true, honest baseball. I look forward to it every year. You gotta see this gal. If you haven't heard of Mo'ne Davis, you will soon. The 13-year-old pitching powerhouse led her Philadelphia Little League team to victory today in its first World Series match against the team from Nashville. She pitched her second complete shutout in a row, the first being the game that qualified her team for the series in Williamsport, Pennsylvania. This is a great event held each year, and yesterday it was filled to the brim with spectators, mainly to see Mo'ne. She wants to eventually play in the WNBA .. she also is a standout at basketball and I think, soccer. UCONN, here I come .... another Elena Della Donn in the making, perhaps. Plenty of games today, teams from all around the world, check them out, you will not be disappointed.

Tony Stewart is still a hot topic. I have my own opinion on what happened in that instant that took that young drivers life. I just find it odd, that much lesser qualified drivers were able to avoid contact, when the best driver on the track, could not. Way too much money in sponsorship's, TV, etc. to drag it out. I still think Stewart will retire, what kind of a reception would he receive from the spectators and the other drivers? He did not mean to kill him, just let him know who the "top dog" was on the track, as per the incident that spurred the whole incident.

Robin Williams is still very much on the news. Everyone seems to have an opinion or  theory. Whatever, got to be too much for him. Sad, yes, he was seen by so many for so many years. He created some classic moments for us on TV, and in the movies.
