Since you brought it up ................

I saw more, had greater, clear pictures, listening to the radio. I cannot imagine what it must be like for today's children to not have an active imagination. I honestly think I "saw" more on the radio, than kids today "see" on television.

Some of the greatest were the "playhouse of the air" type shows, Lux and some others, where they had the stars of the day do a movie or a play on the radio. Those images are still with me, few are them images of movies I have seen.

I remember "watching" .... many years ago, baseball games, on the radio, where the announcer is getting the play by play on "ticker" tape, and he was using sound effects to duplicate the game. That had to be exhausting for him, entertaining for his listeners.

I have many images in my mind today, that came out of that old Philco radio we had.
