I related this story some time ago, and thought of it again today. Something about L. Ron Hubbard on TV made me think of this incident.
We had a good friend in Reno, a dealer, Nevada Club, and, on a routine visit to her Doctor, he detected something that needed attention. They could not do it in Reno, so he made an appointment for her in Sacramento, she went, and had surgery scheduled on a particular date.
Her Mom lived rather far away, and she did not want her to worry, as it was just a minor surgery, so she did not tell her.
Some of us drove her down to the hospital. We stayed the night in a nearby motel, and were in her room bright and early the next morning, the day of the scheduled surgery.
The nurse came in, gave her a pill or something and was getting her ready to go to surgery, and the telephone, by her bed, rang .................... it was her Mom on the phone ...........What? ..... How?
I was there, so I know it is a true story. That morning, "something" .... her Mom had a premonition, something told her, to call that hospital, far away, and ask for her daughter.
That is a true story, one that cannot be forgotten ................ ever.
