Store owner sells winning Mega Millions ticket to herself

Glinda Salgado is a co-owner of the Elden Market & Deli in Herndon, Virginia.

Amongst the items for sale there are lottery tickets. So when she learned that her store sold a winning ticket, and thus would be receiving a $10,000 bonus, she was happy. But when she learned who had won the ticket, she was even happier.

You see, Glinda had sold the winning ticket to herself. She didn’t realize it for a while however, telling WTTG, “I didn’t think it was me, so I didn’t check my ticket.”

Almost two weeks after learning that she had sold the winning ticket, she realized she was going to be the lucky recipient. The ticket was worth a $1 million prize, but because she had spent an extra buck for the “Megaplier,” she’ll actually be winning $3 million, making that one of the best $1 investments in recent memory.
