Wreckage Found After Jet Carrying 116 People Disappears

Wreckage from a commercial jetliner carrying 116 people, including 50 from France, that disappeared over west Africa has been found in Mali, NBC News reported. Algeria-bound Air Algerie Flight AH5017 vanished from radar about 50 minutes after it took off from Ouagadougou, Burkina Faso, according to the Algerian Press Service. Burkina Faso's Transport Minister Jean Bertin Ouedraogo told reporters its pilots had asked to change route about 21 minutes after takeoff after reporting heavy rains.

Swiftair said 110 passengers and six crew were aboard the jet, NBC News reported.
