Levis

Just doing some reminiscing. I remember many years ago, late 30's early 40's, Emerson Junior High School in Dayton, Ohio, if a kid came to school in "overalls" (now bluejeans), it meant he came from a poor family. He was often kidded and ridiculed for being poor and coming from a poor family, probably from Kentucky, better known in those days as "briarhoppers."

I graduated in 1950, and not sure when I wore "levis" to school. Maybe never did. I remember a few of us went to a live "country" show in Dayton. We went to a store downtown and bought a Levi Jacket and pants for the occasion. Saw Ernest Tubb and Grandpa Jones. We were kidded at school for doing that.

Wish I had those Levis now.
