It Really Happened

Many years ago a friend of mine in Reno, a 21 dealer at Harold's Club, was going to have a minor operation, but it could not be done at the local hospital, so we were going to drive her down to Sacramento to have it done. She was originally from San Diego, and her family still lived there.

Her Mom, apparently, was quite a worrier, so she had not told her Mother of her upcoming surgery so she would not worry about it.

Some other friends were going to ride down with us, had four in the car, my Studebaker Hawk, loved that car, so anyway, we headed for Sacramento. We all had some time off so we were going to make it a three day mini vacation. We left on a Monday and her operation was to be on Tuesday, so we were going to stay at a motel nearby the hospital.

We got her all checked in at the hospital, and the rest of us headed for our motel. We visited with her at the hospital that night before going out to eat.

We got up early on Tuesday and headed for the hospital and went up to her room. We were all sitting and talking, waiting for them to take her to surgery when her telephone rang.

It was her Mother, from San Diego,  something had told her to call that hospital in Sacramento, and she even knew the room number, 477, I have never forgotten that room number, it was so strange. Out of the blue, she knew that something was wrong with her Daughter and she needed to call her.

Since that time I have believed in guardian angels.
