Is Revolution Inevitable?

Posted 7 hours ago by Common Constitutionalist

This one’s going to feel like a real bummer, but I’ll bet I’m not the only one thinking this:

Has the grand experiment called the United States of America run its course – the idea that a country, a people can rule themselves? That a true representative Republic could be formed and withstand the test of time?

Well, I’m fast becoming convinced that man’s natural state is not one of freedom and liberty. It is becoming evident that the natural state of most humans is servitude and sloth.

It seems more and more Americans at least appear to be satisfied with the meager existence offered up by their masters in government. It seems that rugged American spirit has been replaced with a want to be cared for.

It may not be most, but certainly enough Americans are satisfied with the direction our country is heading. There appear to be enough citizens that are okay with the imperial nature of our current government, as demonstrated by the tyrants which they elect, year after year.

But what of the rest of us? We can’t all move to Belize. What do we do? What do we do when “our party” gives up and passes a “clean” debt ceiling bill without even a whisper of a fight?

Any reasonable citizen should be very worried when a sitting Supreme Court justice, Antonin Scalia, is convinced the concentration camps are likely in our future.

You and I know that those camps won’t be filled with Japanese. This time it will be anyone who opposes or even speaks out against this government. We will be those who our government labels as “enemies” and “subversives.”

We’ve been sounding the alarm for some time now, as we saw Homeland Security stocking up on billions of bullets and military style assault vehicles.

Now we learn of Homeland’s purchase of over 141,000 rounds of .308 long-range sniper ammo. Who needs that much sniper ammo and for what reason? Are they gearing up for something? Do they know something we don’t? And if so – what? Martial law?

We know that Obama believes he, as president, can do anything he wants. He said so and don’t think he was just kidding. Look at his actions as well as his words.

Raising federal workers minimum wage and many times manipulating the Obamacare law as he sees fit, regardless of whether it is within his power to do so, which it is not. He believes he can accomplish anything with the stroke of that pen. So far, he’s not wrong.

He has instructed the IRS to pursue any company official who announces layoffs due to Obamacare. If that’s not tyrannical, tell me what is?

He is in fact, becoming Caesar, complete with a House and Senate that have become no more than rubber stamps drawing a salary and great retirement benefits.

It seems every generation thinks times are tougher than they’ve ever been, or so the saying goes. I never bought into that, knowing what I know of our history. I thought it could never be as bad as the Wilson or FDR eras, but I think I may be wrong this time around. What other president has been so arrogant in his pursuit of absolute power?

I really hate to be a downer, but by the end of Obama’s term (if there is an end to it), it may be too late. Things are happening just that fast.

By then we may have but two choices – revolution or escape. At our current trajectory, I don’t see a third option.
