You're gonna replace who, God?

In  my case, there was NO ..... after Carson. Leno and Letterman, I have seen, enough to know who they are. I see Leno at Car Auction shows more than I have ever watched on his show. I am only impressed with the size of Letterman's ego, and, I guess, he is a Hoosier, from Indiana, which is where my family is from.

My first "late nite" TV was in California, early 50's, Peter Potter. If someone showed up, he would stay on the air, if no one did, they all went home. I saw Sammy Davis on that show, which originated in LA, and he had two eyes. There has been a string of "late night" shows, but, really, only one, Mr. Carson. He set the bar high, and no one has ever come close to going over it.

"Ok team, go out there and be better than the ’65 Boston Celtics, or the’87 Los Angeles Lakers or the’97 Chicago Bulls, I know you can do it."

"We have a great football season ahead, you guys are gonna be better than the 985 Chicago Bears."

"Jimmy, be better than Carson."

Yea, really .................
