Elder Tips

One of my Facebook Friends, Wanjira Karobia,  gave me the idea. I don't know if these are valid suggestions or not, I am 78 and alive, so we'll go from there.

Some things I try to do.

Not for everyone, but we have a dog, Caleb, spoiled and when we go to Walmart he expects us to bring him back something, which we do. He digs right in to the plastic bags and finds his toys with great haste. We generally get him little stuffed toys. First think he does is get the "squeaker" out, and then out comes the stuffing.

Now, the good part, bending over and picking up the cotton off the floor, and if no cotton, I pick up little specks off the floor, I do that often, been good for my back and a good exercise in general. I also take the stairs whenever possible, I carry out the trash and get as much "cardio" as possible.

One good theory I sometimes go by, "You don't make a car last longer by driving it." I use that as an excuse when I don't want to exercise or do anything.

Shoelace tying is good to. Sit on the side of the bed, put "lace" shoes on, reach down and tie them. Hurts the gut, but good for you. Old people should not get the Velcro clasps, tie your shoes.
