Charitable Giving

I received this in an Email. I think I have seen it before. None of the statements have been verified,, but it is food for thought.

As you open your pockets for yet another appeal for funds, keep these facts in mind:

Marsha J. Evans, President and CEO of the American Red Cross... Salary for year ending 06/30/03 was $651,957 plus expenses. (That's $74.42 an hour For EVERY hour of EVERY day.) It’s nearing $800,000 now.

Brian Gallagher, President of the United Way receives a $375,000 base salary, plus numerous expense benefits. (That's $42.80 an hour for EVERY Hour of EVERY day.)

UNICEF CEO receives $1,200,000 per year plus all expenses and a ROLLS ROYCE car where ever he goes and only cents of your dollar goes to the cause. (That's $1369.86 an hour for EVERY hour of EVERY day.)

The Salvation Army's Commissioner Todd Bassett receives a salary of only $13,000 per year (plus housing) for managing this $2 billion dollar organization.

No further comment....

I remember many years ago my Dad, the Doctor, was on the board of an organization, won't mention which one. The National Director was going to pay a visit to Dayton. They were told it would take two limos at the airport, one for the director, one for his staff. They needed eight rooms at the "best" hotel in Dayton. The two limos would be available during their entire visit. They ate only at the best restaurants and DEMANDED excellent service in all that they did.   My Dad resigned his position very shortly after their two limos took them to the airport,  for their FIRST CLASS flights to their next town, where, reportedly, the same scenario occurred.
