Well, it finally happened

Well, it happened today, I guess I wasn't shocked, I had just never given it a lot of thought before.

My wife does some secret shop visits, did two today at freeway truck stops. Each one took maybe forty five minutes, so I spent some time in the parking lot, near the entrances, so I did a lot of people watching while I waited, and  it was quite busy, Memorial Day and all, a steady stream of people paying for gas, getting snacks to eat and a whole lot of bottles of water.

Mid-way through the second stop, at the TA station and store, I suddenly realized that I am now one of a  minority, white, male, Caucasian.

Then I started wondering why, so many different ethnic groups were celebrating Memorial Day, or perhaps they were just all traveling, coincidentally.

I now have a slight insight into what it is like being in a minority.  Regardless of race or ethnic background, or whatever country a person comes from, they love Popeye's Chicken, Pizza Hut and bottled water, and, after seeing all those hot, tired exhausted folks, I was glad we weren't traveling, just getting two Jimmie John's subs and going home.

The new Crown Crust Pizza from Pizza Hut

Perhaps you've heard by now of the Crown Crust pizza, the pizza-cheeseburger hybrid recently unveiled by some of Pizza Hut's international franchisees. Available only at Pizza Hut Middle East, this fast food chimera features a vaguely crown-shaped crust studded with "cheeseburger gems," topped with lettuce and tomato, and drizzled with "special sauce."

Many foodies have decried it as a "culinary abomination," "a sign of the apocalypse," or proof that America is finally losing its monopoly on gluttony. A reviewer at Serious Eats, who tried the Crown Crust in Dubai, wrote: "There seems to be no rational explanation as to why this pizza was created."

But Leila Hudson, director of Middle Eastern and North African Studies at the University of Arizona, and a restaurateur herself, says the Crown Crust probably looks a lot less bizarre to Middle Eastern consumers than it does to us.

I am trying ................

I gained about 8 pounds over the Thanksgiving Holidays, and I am trying to lose some weight. I would like to get back to that 195 or under. I am getting to that point where I dred going to the bathroom. Not because of any internal problems, the problem is, standing up. Knees, ankles, legs, hips, all hurt.

Yesterday we were at WalMart and I decided to go for those little TV dinners, and they are only $1, plus, portion control, should get my stomach shrunk down a little, and only a buck, some were 93 cents. If I eat seven of those a week, only $7, lose weight and save us some money. Since we didn't get a raise in our SS this year, we are having to cut corners. What better way than me eating for a little over $1 a day, and I lose weight.

I had an English Muffin for breakfast, and this evening started to get a little hungry. Banquet Salisbury Steak dinner with mashed potatoes and corn. Microwave only 6 minutes.

It was not too bad, the spoonful of potatoes was a little runny, spoon full of corn was pretty good, Salisbury steak was pretty good, used the extra gravy on the potatoes. All in all, not too bad. Still a little hungry, but satisfied. I could see the weight coming down.

Well, we had some ice cream sandwiches for dessert, pretty good, lime ice cream and a chocolate type cookie, so I had one.

Now, an hour later, sitting here at the laptop, working my heart out, internet marketing, which so far, over all these years, has gotten me about $30, but I try very hard.

"Would you like a Calzone, from Pizza Hut?"

I am never gonna lose that weight.
