Expelled Nazis paid millions in Social Security

Are we a great country, or what? .... "Pay them, and they will leave" ... Ironic, Some may have been in the SS in Germany, and were payed by the US SS to leave the country

OSIJEK, Croatia (AP) — Former Auschwitz guard Jakob Denzinger lived the American dream.

His plastics company in the Rust Belt town of Akron, Ohio, thrived. By the late 1980s, he had acquired the trappings of success: a Cadillac DeVille and a Lincoln Town Car, a lakefront home, investments in oil and real estate. Then the Nazi hunters showed up.

In 1989, as the U.S. government prepared to strip him of his citizenship, Denzinger packed a pair of suitcases and fled to Germany. Denzinger later settled in this pleasant town on the Drava River, where he lives comfortably, courtesy of U.S. taxpayers. He collects a Social Security payment of about $1,500 each month, nearly twice the take-home pay of an average Croatian worker.

Denzinger, 90, is among dozens of suspected Nazi war criminals and SS guards who collected millions of dollars in Social Security payments after being forced out of the United States, an Associated Press investigation found.

The payments flowed through a legal loophole that has given the U.S. Justice Department leverage to persuade Nazi suspects to leave. If they agreed to go, or simply fled before deportation, they could keep their Social Security, according to interviews and internal government records. Like Denzinger, many lied about their Nazi pasts to get into the U.S. following World War II, and eventually became American citizens.

Among those who benefited:

—armed SS troops who guarded the Nazi network of camps where millions of Jews perished.

—an SS guard who took part in the brutal liquidation of the Warsaw ghetto in Nazi-occupied Poland that killed as many as 13,000 Jews.

—a Nazi collaborator who engineered the arrest and execution of thousands of Jews in Poland.

—a German rocket scientist accused of using slave labor to build the V-2 rocket that pummeled London. He later won NASA's highest honor for helping to put a man on the moon.

The AP's findings are the result of more than two years of interviews, research and analysis of records obtained through the Freedom of Information Act and other sources.

The Justice Department denied using Social Security payments as a tool for removing Nazi suspects. But records show the U.S. State Department and the Social Security Administration voiced grave concerns over the methods used by the Justice Department's Nazi-hunting unit, the Office of Special Investigations. State officials derogatorily called the practice "Nazi dumping" and claimed the OSI was bargaining with suspects so they would leave voluntarily.

Since 1979, the AP analysis found, at least 38 of 66 suspects removed from the United States kept their Social Security benefits.

No Thanks Joe Biden ...............

Chris McMurray, who just opened a ‘mom and pop’s’ bakery with his wife in May, was offered the opportunity of a lifetime. What opportunity was that, you ask? The opportunity was to host the vice president and his entourage as they came to town during the 2012 campaign. Apparently vice president Joe Biden’s advance team entered McMurray’s establishment “Crumb and Get It” to see if it would be OK for Biden and his entourage to come there to eat when he was in town. McMurray responded, “This is an opportunity of a lifetime but essentially I said ‘No offense to you or the campaign but I just decline you guys coming in here.”

At that time she said “Are you sure? There’s going to be a lot of press, a lot of activity.” Others would be asking the same thing, why would you turn down an opportunity like this? “Very simply, you didn't build that’” McMurray said. “Speaking of small businesses and entrepreneurs all across this country and actually last night my wife was up all night. No sleep, she’s worked a full 24 hours.”

Whoa! You gotta like this guy. He has class and backbone. He stood up for what he believed in and didn’t just talk about it, even though it probably cost him a great opportunity. Though from people covering his story, I’m sure he’ll do just fine in his business. The Biden campaign was able to secure “River City Grill,” which is just around the corner. What’s most telling about this is not Biden, the bakery or the McMurrays.

The Secret Service entered McMurray’s establishment after the advance team left and told McMurray “Thanks for standing up and saying no.” Then they bought a bunch of cookies and cupcakes!

McMurray said he’s hoping folks will understand he just didn’t want to be part of a photo op for an administration whose policies he doesn’t agree with. In an update to the story, WDBJ7 writes: After declining Biden stop yesterday, Radford bakery ran out of food today

Interesting piece of information .....Baseless THREATS

I felt the "SS scare" was only that. I know people got their checks today, I got mine, deposited in the bank, right on schedule. This article explains what I was NOT concerned.

What happens to Social Security if the government shuts down?

"People don't get their Social Security checks." That was President Obama at a press conference last week.

And this is Harry Reid, the top Democrat in the Senate, in a statement on Tuesday: "A shutdown could ... mean no Social Security checks for seniors."

The Democrats are saber rattling, hoping to portray Republicans as irresponsible. And the claim has been repeated by other top Democrats.

Here's the rub: It doesn't appear to be true.

During the last major shutdown, which lasted about a month starting in late 1995, the Social Security Administration mailed checks throughout the crisis, and a close reading of established law makes clear the agency has the legal authority to do so again.

"I am absolutely sure the checks would be sent out," said John F. Cooney, a partner at law firm Venable who designed shutdown plans for the government while employed at the Office of Management and Budget.

Robert Reischauer, president of the Urban Institute and a trustee of the Social Security and Medicare trust funds, backed that view, saying claims that benefits won't be paid are "not true."

The legal case is pretty clear. In 1995, President Clinton's lawyers in the Department of Justice laid out how federal agencies should operate if Congress failed to appropriate funds.

Running the government on 8¢

At the time, Clinton's lawyers pointed out that Social Security checks could be mailed during a shutdown, because the program doesn't need Congress to authorize funds for it each year. Instead, Social Security benefits are paid from the program's trust fund.

IT'S BROKE - Let's FIX it .........

The 26th amendment (granting the right to vote for 18 year-olds) took only 3 months & 8 days to be ratified! Why? Simple! The people demanded it. That was in 1971...before computers, before e-mail, before cell phones, etc.

Of the 27 amendments to the Constitution, seven (7) took 1 year or less to become the law of the land...all because of public pressure.

Congressional Reform Act of 2011

1. Term Limits.
12 years only, one of the possible options below..
A. Two Six-year Senate terms
B. Six Two-year House terms
C. One Six-year Senate term and three Two-Year House terms

2. No Tenure / No Pension.
A Congressman collects a salary while in office and receives no pay when they are out of office.

3. Congress (past, present & future) participates in Social Security.
All funds in the Congressional retirement fund move to the Social Security system immediately. All future funds flow into the Social Security system, and Congress participates with the American people.

4. Congress can purchase their own retirement plan, just as all Americans do.

5. Congress will no longer vote themselves a pay raise. Congressional pay will rise by the lower of CPI or 3%.

6. Congress loses their current health care system and participates in the same health care system as the American people.

7. Congress must equally abide by all laws they impose on the American people.

8. All contracts with past and present Congressmen are void effective 1/1/11.

The American people did not make this contract with Congressmen.Congressmen made all these contracts for themselves. Serving in Congress is an honor, not a career. The Founding Fathers envisioned citizen legislators, so ours should serve their term(s), then go home and back to work.

If each person forwards this posting to a minimum of twenty people then it will only take three days for most people (in the U.S. ) to receive the message.

Maybe it is time.

THIS IS HOW YOU FIX CONGRESS!!!!! If you agree with the above, pass it on. If not, just delete

RESPONSE from The Mad Is On In Oklahoma

In the many lies told by Obama,Reid and Pelosi, America was duped to believe that the Democrats were out to get the "rich" and take their money to give to the poor. The class war has been a mainstay of the Democratic party since FDR.

You should first realize that the reason the money is not in the Social Security account is because the politicians have raided it for years, spending the money on things other than the Security of the elderly.

Next, the outright lies to the people. While we thought that we were going to be taken care of, the Democrats, behind closed doors, under the table and with a wink of the eye have put the poor out of work, ruined savings and are now after the weakest of our Society, the aged who actually built the nation we live in.

Remember when Pelosi and Reid told their Party that they should vote for Bills that the Public opposed, even if it caused them to lose their jobs. Often they were encouraged to pass them without reading what was written so that they would not know what Obama, Reid and Pelosi were up to, Some had to be bribed, to be sure, but they fell into lock-step and allowed the Bills to be passed into law.

Look back now. What was done -what IS being done - to affect the "rich"? Not a thing. Everything that has been done is an attack on the less fortunate, the sick, the old and the uneducated..

The Rich, including most politicians, can afford two dollars for a loaf of bread. The rich can afford to put fifty dollars into their gas tank, The rich have health care, retirement, insurance and access to decent education.

But, we should be happy. We have given a lot of money to the Unions. Not the workers of the Unions, but to the Unions so they can fight in the courts to promote mediocre work, failed teachers and , of course Government workers.

You would have to admit, the money is being used much more effectively than just "giving" it to the people that it belongs to - the elderly, the hurt and the weak.
