Now we know the truth about the recent Ohio State football scandal.
Coach heard that certain members of his team were going to enter the NFL draft and not come back for the 2011 season.
He told them he needed money and wanted to borrow from them, his million PLUS salary was not enough to get him by. They had no money so he suggested they sell some items which he suggested. They did and loaned him the money.
He turned them in to the NCAA
The five were suspended for the first five games next season, Akron, Toledo, Miami, Colorado and Michigan State. (Talk about Sisters of the Little Flower)
In comes AD Smith and says that their intent is to appeal the decision, and get it reduced to four games, which would eliminate the Michigan State game and allow his players to play.
Then the five were made to write on the blackboard a thousand times:
I be back an play ball nex yer at Hia State.
I be back an play ball nex yer at Hia State.
etc, etc, etc.
Coach had them sign a piece of paper which said that if they played in the bowl game they would return and play for Tressel's Buckeyes for the 2011 season. AD Smith witnessed the signing and had Gordon Gee's secretary notarize the document.
Their INTEGRITY will bring them back next year, not the paper. The same guys who sold items that to some players meant so much, but to them, nothing. If INTEGRITY brings them back, then say "GOOD BYE, hope you do well in the draft."
One sports analyst, and an ex player, suggested that the players ask NOT TO PLAY in the bowl game in hopes the NCAA will take that in to consideration when considering their punishment next year. Good Point.
But, you can be assured that they will play, Coach wants them too, AD wants them to, the school wants them to, the NCAA wants them to, TV wants them to and the OSU Treasurer wants them to.
