Franklin County, Ohio, Commissioner, Paula Brooks wants a Buy American policy for all county purchases.
Was she elected to be frugal with taxpayer money, or to eliminate competitive bids and to only buy from American companies.
What if it is an American company who has their products made abroad?
"I will never apologize for fighting for jobs for our community or for using American tax dollars in America," Brooks said. "I think Americans are sick and tired of all our jobs going overseas, and someone needs to put their foot down."
I personally don't think that is her role as Commissioner. We are in a global economy, will the county never buy from Walmart. How much does Walmart pay in taxes to Franklin County?
She is a politician, and after her constituents come home from Walmart, and watch the TV they bought at Walmart, and eat dinner, with food they bought at Walmart, she thinks they are going to look at her on their Walmart TV and say, "Gosh, is she a good American or what, she doesn't care what it costs, she just wants it to say "Made in the USA."
I wonder if everything that went in to the new courthouse building was made in the USA, I doubt it.
