I think all politicians are on the very bottom of the totem poll, none of them have my respect. Not the old ones in office or the new ones coming in. I think that winning an election is akin to winning the lottery. They think nothing of what they said they were going to do, all the answers, all the solutions to the problems of the country.
Those in office already have it, the newbies now have it, GUARANTEED RETIREMENT, more perks than in an old coffee pot. They have found the holy grail. They now hold a "Political Office."
In a lot of respects, like a casino, they have a license to steal. They have their Campaign Fund, their whole family and friends on their payroll, probably a lucrative "slush fund," and so many benefits only their wives know what all they have.
Will they do what they promised? NO!
Will they look out for themselves? YES!
A month ago, after the elections, Obama has suffered a dramatic, disastrous defeat.
Now, today he is speaking like the winner, getting his agenda moving forward, and heading for Hawaii on Air Force One for the holidays. My guess is during this last week his popularity has gone up. I wonder if all 22 of Michele's aides are going along, and all of his, wow, what a party.
Will it be different after January, I doubt it. The new crop will quickly realize that they are in a big orchard, and all of the fruit is free for the picking, and they will want to get their share
That smooth talking old silver tongued Barack will have them eating out of his hands before long. I heard that he was going to start having "Tea Parties" at the White House to make them feel more comfortable.
