I wonder ...... ???

A lot of ads on TV testing and destroying cars, by a company who claims they can determine how safe a car actually is. They wreck them with a series of tests with a variety of equipment. They take a brand new car, broadside it with a "ram" .... take pictures of it, evaluate it, and produce a list of ..... The Safest Cars. A billion dollar industry.

I have done some research, very few people purchase a car because it is deemed safe. There are a number of reasons people purchase cars, but safety is near the bottom of the list. Many people, who buy a car, admit they are swayed by ads seen on TV. Some buy on an appearance they like, some purchase as a "status: symbol, luxury versus economy. Gas mileage has been one criteria, not so much now that gas prices are down.

Many purchase trucks, there, are Ford People, Chevy  People and Dodge People, period

I'm sure there are some who buy the "safest" car, but no one buys a car that intends to have a wreck. "Oh, yea, I always buy the safest car, I have two or three wrecks a year." Doesn't happen.

No one, who purchases a car intends or thinks they are going to have a wreck, so how and why could it be one of the criteria in purchasing.

"OK, honey, we are going to buy a Honda A-37, two door, gray ... that is the one with the best safety record .... and I know that you will have a wreck this year."

But, an industry was created, one, well, I imagine the manufactures give them the cars, maybe they purchase them, I don't know, but hundreds of new cars are totaled each year, in the name of safety. I wonder how they really pulled that scam off and have been able to perpetuate it. I doubt that any two wrecks are alike ..... so then ..... why ..............?
