Al Roker tweeted from Russia with no love for the decision by New York’s new mayor to keep the city public schools open during Thursday’s snowstorm.
"Why are schools all around NYC closed? It’s going to take some kid or kids getting hurt before this goofball policy gets changed.”
Roker was speaking as a dad with a daughter in a New York City public school as well as the Today show’s weatherman on assignment at the Winter Olympics in Sochi.
A couple of thoughts here. Al Roker is in Russia, nothing but a weatherman who became popular because he was fat and then lost weight. His hat size has doubled or tripled in the last few years. My other thought, what does the mayor of New York have to do with closing schools? Is that not up to the school board, what, when, where and why, did it become the responsibility of a mayor to make that decision. I think, around here at least, it is up to the school superintendent to make such a decision.
"Mister Mayor, Al Roker here, yes, the one on television, well, I used to just do the weather, now, well, I am much more important, I lost a lot of weight and got popular, yes, Biden did come over and shake my hand, what, well, I'm in Russia doing the Olympics, why, well, I drew the short straw, no, the terrorists have done nothing yet, but, my daughter sent me a text, and well, she's upset about having to go to school in the snow, what, well, to be honest, well, she said the limo could not pull up in front of the door, and well, she had to walk down a ways to find a clear spot, and well, the driver, he couldn't get out and open the door for her, she had to do it herself, hello, hello, must have gotten cut off."
