Prisoner 947362 is shown here checking to see what the wheel has indicated as his choice for his execution. He shares a cell with Tom, a cat convicted of killing a mouse, which happened to be a pet of the Governor's daughter Elle May.
The Tennessee state prison system has announced that a new weekly show, "The Wheel," will be broadcast on a closed circuit prison television system. It is currently looking for a celebrity to host the show. Drew Carey, host of the popular daytime show, declined, stating, "I think it would be rather bad for my image."
"Down huere, weall let the prisoner decide how he wants to go," Warden Jefferson W. Murgatroid stated. "Some a um had a hard time, so they decided to let The Wheel decide for them. It's a win-win for us."
One un-named network has expressed interest in scheduling the show in its prime time schedule of shows.
No advertisers have come forth yet indicating their interest in advertising on the show. Contestants are chosen from prisoners from Cellblock 00, where the condemned prisoners are housed. All prisoners are encouraged to attend the live show as it is felt it would be somewhat of a deterrent.
