I say, "Not Guilty"

COLUMBUS, Ohio (AP) -- A juror helping decide a central Ohio court case had a unique excuse for not showing up for deliberations -- he was in jail.

Twenty-year-old Ke'Chaun Lewis had been arrested early Sunday for allegedly robbing a man. He was still locked up on Monday morning when his fellow jurors gathered to resume deliberations that began Friday in a Columbus murder case.

The Columbus Dispatch reports that Lewis -- who told attorneys he was a college student -- got out of jail and showed up Tuesday morning for a private meeting with Judge Tim Horton, who says he gave the young man a lecture on responsibility. Horton acknowledged, though, that Lewis "has bigger issues to deal with."

A working phone number for Lewis couldn't be located.
