SAO PAULO (AP) -- Construction officials say the roof of the stadium hosting the World Cup opener will not be finished for the tournament.
Construction company Odebrecht confirmed Friday that a part of the roof at the Itaquerao will be completed after the World Cup.
The company said it did not have enough time to install the glass covers that were supposed to be added to the sides of the stadium's roofing structure.
Odebrecht said the missing covers will not affect fans watching matches in the stadium.
Also Friday, the company in charge of installing 20,000 temporary seats needed for the June 12 opener between Brazil and Croatia said it successfully addressed all health and safety issues that had prompted prosecutors to threaten to halt work at the venue.
