More than a dozen people were hurt after an NYC Department of Correction bus was involved in an accident near the Manhattan Bridge during Monday's morning rush hour, authorities say.
The bus was involved in the accident on Canal Street at the base of the bridge shortly before 9 a.m. It wasn't clear if it was transporting inmates.
All of the victims were taken to nearby hospital with what authorities described as minor injuries.
It wasn't clear how many vehicles were involved, nor was it known what caused the accident.
Traffic was backed up on the bridge while authorities investigated.
