No headlines this morning, at least not nationally, probably not on the late news, but yesterday, something great occurred in sports, the Ladies, from Michigan, their softball team, won a game, against Arizona State University. And, they, they won another game, against the same Arizona State University team, on their home field, to advance in the tournament. I don't believe anyone thought they could do that. I have followed them for a few years, they would get behind and I would turn to something else, and then come back.
I gave up last night, watched something else, turned back, they were up by one run, bottom of the 7th, the last inning, 1 out. Then, two outs. Then, a l o n g ball, hit to deep left, and a catch, probably a foot from the top of the fence ..... and in that instant ..... Michigan won. Hutch, the coach, looked like she was in disbelief ........ tight face ...... then ...... a glowing smile, I think a OMG was uttered when she saw that catch. I don't think the moment got recorded.
I have often said that if there is an after life and we do come back, I want to come back as a lady softball player, good enough to get a scholarship to a college, Michigan would be OK. The ALL seem to greatly enjoy their college experience. They have way too much fun. I cannot imagine a "college experience" any greater than these Lady Softballers seem to have.
It has been a team effort for them ......
