TAXES and Fufu

I don't know why, I was sitting in the parking lot today, at the hospital, waiting for my wife to get her monthly blood test done. What came to mind, taxes, have no reason why. I wonder if people every REALLY think about and consider all there is to know about taxes.

Eve decided to get gold from Adam, every time they had sex. In those days, they ate and had sex, that was all there was to do. He refused to pay for the food that generally he had procured, that Eve prepared. The menu was very skimpy, to say the least. They didn't really refer to it as sex, they called it Fufu. Eve realized that if she held back on the Fufu long enough, she could have her way with him.

So, one day, she looked Adam, right in the eye and told him, "Wantum gold for Fufu, no gold, no Fufu." He originally objected, but a few days without Fufu was enough for him, he went to the river, found some gold, gave it to her, and Eve was happy. Oddly enough, they didn't refer to it as gold, they called it Taxamatious, which, being too long, was shortened to Tax, thus, the first Tax was actually charged for Fufu.

Taxes, in a way, are still being thrust upon us, and Fufu enters in to it, somewhat. Actually, we now pay the Tax and still be Fufu'd, so to speak.

Ironic in a way, that the people responsible for us paying Taxes are the ones who reap the rewards of the Tax. How did we all become so immune to the sting of taxes. We "bitch" and complain a little, and then pay them. Odd, too, the people who collect the taxes, pursue us when we don't pay them, prosecute us for not paying them, incarcerate us as a penalty, and then, even feed us while serving the penalty for not paying them, are all payed by our tax money.

"Protection" money, as collected by the mob years ago, was considered illegal. Yet, we pay taxes to pay our police, to protect us. A thin line there, between what is "legal" - "right" - and "wrong."

A small minority of the population analyze these things, the vast majority, accept it, unquestionably. If the voting populace does not become more "politically articulate" .... the disastrous path we are on now, will not only continue, but grow and grow and become insurmountable..

BAD Ohio - Ohio failed to return tax overpayments

COLUMBUS, Ohio (AP) — Ohio wrongfully failed to return more than $30 million in business tax refunds to companies that properly requested the money, the state watchdog said in a report released Thursday.

The Ohio Inspector General found that $34 million in requested refunds dating back several years were placed on pending status and therefore not paid out, according to the report, which said the practice violates Ohio tax law and dates to at least 1999.

"For years, the Ohio Department of Taxation has ignored the fact that they are holding taxpayer money that doesn't belong to the state," Inspector General Randy Meyer said in a statement.

A message was left with the Taxation Department seeking comment.

The majority of money involved the corporate franchise tax, a former business tax that has now largely been replaced by Ohio's commercial activities tax. It also included sales and uses taxes and employers' withholding taxes.

The money represents a fraction of the $28 billion in tax revenue Ohio is expected to collect this year.
Thursday's report also said the practice of the Department of Taxation was not to inform taxpayers of any overpayments.

Last year, as the investigation was underway, the agency said it would begin alerting businesses when they've unknowingly overpaid taxes and help them reclaim their money.

At the time of the announcement in December, Gov. John Kasich and tax commissioner Joe Testa said the state would begin notifying about 3,500 taxpayers who may have overpaid by a total of up to $13.7 million.

U.S. Firms Move Abroad

By John D. McKinnon

More big U.S. companies are reincorporating abroad despite a 2004 federal law that sought to curb the practice. One big reason: Taxes.
Companies cite various reasons for moving, including expanding their operations and their geographic reach. But tax bills remain a primary concern. A few cite worries that U.S. taxes will rise in the future, especially if Washington revamps the tax code next year to shrink the federal budget deficit.

"We want to be closer to where our clients are," says David Prosperi, a spokesman for risk manager Aon plc, which relocated to the U.K. in April.

Aon has told analysts it expects to reduce its tax rate, which averaged 28% over the past five years, by five percentage points over time, which could boost profits by about $100 million annually.

Since 2009, at least 10 U.S. public companies have moved their incorporation address abroad or announced plans to do so, including six in the last year or so, according to a Wall Street Journal analysis of company filings and statements. That's up from just a handful from 2004 through 2008.

The companies that have moved recently include manufacturer Eaton Corp., oil firms Ensco International Inc. and Rowan Cos., as well as a spinoff of Sara Lee Corp. called D.E. Master Blenders 1753.

The Last Nickel - Sad but true

A father walks into a restaurant with his young son..... He gives the young boy 3 nickels to play with to keep him occupied.

Suddenly, the boy starts choking, going blue in the face..
The father realizes the boy has swallowed the nickels and starts slapping him on the back.

The boy coughs up 2 of the nickels, but keeps choking.
Looking at his son, the father is panicking, shouting for help.

A well dressed, attractive, and serious looking woman, in a blue business suit is sitting at the counter reading a newspaper and sipping a cup of coffee. At the sound of the commotion, she looks up, puts her coffee cup down, neatly folds the newspaper and places it on the counter, gets up from her seat and makes her way, unhurried, across the restaurant.

Reaching the boy, the woman carefully drops his pants; takes hold of the boy's' testicles and starts to squeeze and twist, gently at first and then ever so firmly. After a few seconds the boy convulses violently and coughs up the last nickel, which the woman deftly catches in her free hand.

Releasing the boy's testicles, the woman hands the nickel to the father and walks back to her seat at the counter without saying a word.

As soon as he is sure that his son has suffered no ill effects, the father rushes over to the woman and starts thanking her saying, "I've never seen anybody do anything like that before, it was fantastic. Are you a doctor?"

"No," the woman replied. "I'm with the IRS."

A NOTE to Congress

DEAR CONGRESS:

Last year I mismanaged my funds and this year my family and I cannot decide on a budget.

Until we have come to a unified decision that fits all of our needs and interests we will have to shut down our checkbook and will no longer be able to pay our taxes.

I'm sure you'll understand.

Thank you very much for setting an example we can follow.

Then tax him some more,
Tax him till
He's good and sore.

You just GOTTA feel sorry for old Rushba.......

First, I am NOT a Limbaugh fan. I think it is a shame when a radio dj can become the spokesperson for a political party, he is an entertainer, nothing more. He is like the pied piper of old. And, if he is so smart, why does he need that big a place, spend all that money on taxes and upkeep, when he only uses if 15 days a year. How DUMB is that? Wouldn't a hotel be cheaper? DAH! Do you think he has an EGO problem? You can't say he is dumb, he listened to what his Daddy told him, "Buy LOW and sell HIGH! This picture says a lot, "He just blows smoke."

Rush Limbaugh Sells Condo, Vetoes NY Taxes

Rush Limbaugh is vetoing New York City taxes  literally by selling his posh residence there.

The radio talk show king's 10-room condominium went under contract Thursday for about $11.5 million, reports The Wall Street Journal. Limbaugh purchased the property in 1994 for about $5 million, and his final asking price was $12.95 million.

The sale of the Fifth Avenue penthouse comes a year after Limbaugh began publicly complaining about the high taxes that wealthy New York residents must pay.

The state had imposed a so-called “millionaires' tax” on wealthy residents to help cut a huge budget deficit, which Limbaugh said punished "“the achievers for the mistakes ... on the part of a bunch of corrupt politicians."

Higher-incomed New York City residents can expect to pay more than half their pay in income taxes.

Already the city and state impose an additional 12 percent, on top of the highest federal tax bracket, set to hit 39 percent at the end of this year.

"I'm going to get out of there totally, because this is just absurd," Limbaugh said last year. "I'm going to look for an alternative studio somewhere outside New York, perhaps Texas.”"

On his personal and investment income Limbaugh likely had to pay New York state and city taxes for only the days he resided in the Big Apple. In recent years, however, New York tax authorities have aggressively sought to fully tax the income from media personalities who live outside the state but who broadcast via a signal from New York.

Limbaugh says he spends only about 15 days a year in New York City, where his network studios are located. He usually broadcasts his radio show from his home in Palm Beach, Fla.

The sale of Limbaugh's condo to an undisclosed buyer will cost him about $325,000 in taxes, according to the Journal.

The condo features a 30-foot-wide living room, four terraces, a view of Central Park and a private elevator entrance. It occupies a full floor and has 4,661 square feet of space.

What goes on in Ohio, stays in Ohio

A movement is underway in Ohio to legalize prostitution. One politician was overheard saying, "Hell, if we can tax it, then let's do it."

Apparently, Ohio residents are seeking sex in other states, such as Indiana, Michigan, West Virginia and Kentucky. One union official was quoted as saying, "I think it is time that prostitution is legalized, so that tax revenue from these acts can filter back into the infrastructure, and help relieve some of the tax burden in our municipalities, rebuild our police and fire departments, much as the acts themselves relieve the participating tax payers."

Ohio will then be one of two states offering legalized gambling and prostitution.

To add additional revenue to the state treasury, the state of Ohio is going to form their own construction business, to bid on and build the casinos and houses of ill repute, but also form the OCOA, Ohio Casino Owners Association, which will actually fund and run the casinos and brothels, and the OCABO Union, the Ohio Casino and Brothel Owners Union, which will service all of the employees in the casinos and brothels.

Now, the State of Ohio will own the casinos and brothels in the State, as well as control the unions in both fields. One Representative from around Cleveland stated, "If we own and run both businesses, if we do some "creative accounting" we will still be keeping the money in the state. Perhaps some of the "funding" can go to helping politicians around the state, defray some of their expenses, and not go out of state and perhaps even out of the country to off-shore banks."

Newark, Ohio, years ago, was known as "Little Cicero," named after the notorious city in Illinois. Now, perhaps the whole state can take on that name, and also afford us of the association with Illinois, which could be beneficial under this administration. If the association blossomed, we could then start putting our "deceased" citizens on the Cook county voter rolls.

An overall revue of this plan reveals, revenue from the casinos, revenue from prostitution, and a strong tie to Washington. It is definitely a WIN/WIN situation for the State of Ohio.

"What goes on in Ohio, stays in Ohio."
