Neither his bite nor his bark is scary

Can your "teacup dog" really fit in a tea cup? Do you even know what a "teacup dog" is? Well, Scooter the Maltese terrier, at just 8 centimeters tall, not only fits in a tea cup ... he may just be the smallest dog in the world.

At just six months old, Scooter is still young, but he also appears to have stopped growing.

Owner Cheryl McKnight, from Gisborne, New Zealand, told the AAP that Scooter came from a litter of three and stopped growing before he reached two months.

According to the 2007 Guinness Book of World Records, the smallest dog -- an American long-haired Chihuahua named Boo Boo -- is bigger at just over 10 centimeters tall.

Scooter was originally named Pee Wee, but Ms. McKnight decided to change his name and not give him an inferiority complex.

An inferiority complex? I think he has more things to worry about than that ... like getting crushed by common household items. Even the toy figurines belonging to Ms. McKnight's grandson tower over him!
