The Standard Brownie is a Classic

Many of you know my love for Brownies. Someone asked me about my favorite Brownie, so, here it is. This is the best ............

4 ounces of unsweetened chocolate
1/2 cup of butter
2 large eggs
1 1/2 cup of sugar
1 teaspoon of vanilla extract
1/2 cup of all-purpose flour
1/4 teaspoon of salt
1 cup of chopped walnuts or pecans
  1. Preheat your oven to 350 degrees
  2. Butter and flour an 8-inch square baking pan
  3. Melt the chocolate and butter in a double boiler over hot water or in a heavy pan over low heat, stirring occasionally; let cool slightly.
  4. In a large mixing bowl, beat the eggs, gradually adding the sugar. Beat until just combined, scraping down the sides of the bowl as needed. Add the chocolate mixture and vanilla and stir in the flour and salt until just blended. Fold in the nuts.
  5. Spread evenly in the prepared pan. Bake 20 to 25 minutes. Cool completely in the pan and cut into squares.
Keep checking back, more GREAT recipes to come ....... I have collected them for many years. Some are quite old, my Mothers, my Grandmothers quite a variety and many variations.
