I shed a few tears today ...

I shed some tears a little while ago. As we had driven by a local funeral home we notice a large funeral, with a white horse drawn carriage at the door. We went to the bank, and on our way home, a traffic stop, the funeral procession was leaving and heading our way.

First a car, then the white horse drawn white carriage, some children dressed in white, a gentleman in black, and a small white casket on the front seat in the carriage. I choked up a bit when I saw that. I was not familiar with the story, but I imagined  that perhaps,  a child had planned her own funeral.

I came home, found this article.

On Friday August 24, 2012 The Lord came to lift 3-year-old Ja’Naziah Marie Harris, born Dec. 9, 2008 from her mothers arms after her long hard battle with AML Leukemia.  Although only the age of 3, Nae Nae was an inspiration to so many and touched the heart and souls of everyone who had laid eyes on her.  She was given the gift of knowledge and wisdom beyond her years and the ability to love stronger and deeper then anyone.  A smile that would light up the sky at even a midnight hour, a voice of song that would lift the spirit of even the most wounded hearts.

One wish Nae Nae had was to go to the ocean to find the mermaids and see the whales and dolphins, yet that wish did not come.  But on July 20th 2012, sweet Nae Nae told her mother, “Mama, I don’t want to go to the hospital anymore, I want to go to heaven and see Jesus”.  My sweet baby, God has now granted you a gift mommy never could and it is the greatest gift of all, to walk on golden streets holding the hand of our Savior.

More tears .... I doubt I shall ever forget the image of that little white casket, riding on that carriage ..........
