A SUPER BOWL Memory

This is number 46, this memory goes back to one of the first games, not sure which one, could have been number one or two.

On a Saturday, we were visiting my wife's Grandmother, who was almost 100 years old, and lived out in the country. She still cooked on a wood stove, kept house and was active. She had her son, Paul, still living on the farm with her, he was in his 80's

It was a nice Winter day, not too cold, and we were sitting on the stairs on an outside porch. The news of the day was entirely about the Super Bowl, radio, TV, newspapers, everywhere, the talk was about the Super Bowl.

During the course of our conversation, I asked Uncle Paul, "Are you gonna be watching the big game tomorrow, looks like everyone will be watching it."

The reply. "Naw, our TV went out a few months ago, and we just never got around to getting it fixed."

Caught me off guard, got me thinking and rearranging my priorities a bit. Everyone in the world was excited about The Super Bowl, all except Uncle Paul and his Mom, In Linneville, Ohio, their TV went on the "fritz" a few months ago. Certainly made me stop and think.
