I sometimes WONDER ...............

9/11, in my mind, is the worst disaster that has happened to this country, and has had more impact on the country than any other event in our history.

I suppose it is human nature that we like to "relive" disasters, I just don't know why? It seems like we invest tons of money to keep these events alive in our memories, especially, while we have so many citizens hungry, out of work, homeless. Will some homeless, hungry child be aware of all that is going on this weekend, and wonder why he is hungry and homeless. "How much did that memorial cost, daddy?"

I can't imagine the mega amounts of money that have  been absorbed by the event, the compensation for loss, the money "stolen," and now the money spent in the name of another memorial. I wonder if China has expended tons of money on "memorials?"

Memorials satisfy a comparatively small number of our population, and cost billions or trillions of dollars that perhaps could be put to better use. At sometime, someone in power is going to have to become more of a realist and get our priorities straight.

I, for one, don't need a memorial, or any reminders of 9/11, it will never fade from my mind, many daily incidents trigger that day in my mind.

AFTER we get everyone working, no one homeless, no one hungry, no one fighting wars overseas, or anywhere for that matter, then let's remember.

We never LEARN from the past.
