Watching news from Columbus, Ohio ... top story, the OSU Marching Band director has been fired. He apparently let too much BS go on, may even be some charges against him.
Then on the local news, football season is less than 440 days away, everyone is excited, then a long story on physical training, of the football team, and the program they have gone through this Summer to make them stronger and better football players in the Fall. The Million Dollar Plus Football Coach was pleased with the way things were coming along, as was the Million Dollar Plus Athletic Director.
The fast approaching football season looks good in Columbus, Ohio.
Then, on the National News, rockets, killing, killing children, killing mothers, killing people. They are not sure who is firing the rockets, but they certainly are killing a of people. Pictures of grandparents kissing their dead grandchildren, parents crying over their dead children, children, crying over their dead parents. I wondered, who makes all these rockets, who sells them and who delivers them, and who trains these people to fire them. If someone gave me a rocket, I don't think I would know what to do with it.
But, in Columbus, Ohio, they are excited about football season, the team is training ... who will lead the band this year, I wonder if any of them have been tutored or if academics have been mentioned, at least none on the TV, just football. I turned the news off, watching reruns of Castle. Oddly enough, I checked to see how many were on the OSU band staff ... all links were dead end, wonder why?
They are preparing "a few" students to excel on the football field, perhaps in the pros, but not in the classroom, or in their "life" after football and college, what a shame .... Oh, did I tell you all the money they make on football .....
