I live in the center of Ohio State football country, and years ago, I was one of them, but have not been since they fired Earle. I think their whole program, the campus and the city, have gotten so arrogant, I now wear an M on my cap.

Columbus TV, this weekend, during the braoadcast of Red, White and Boom, well, one discussion, who OSU will play in the championship game next season. Is that arrogant, or what?

The season hasn't even started yet, and they think they are in the championship game already, arrogance to the enth degree.

BIG Fourth Weekend

I love these long weekends, even at 75, still on the go all the time.

Four day weekend, WalMart 3 times, life doesn't get any better than that. We can spend an hour or two, just walking around in the store. We know many of the "associates" now, many of the regular customers, and on a good day I think we could almost do three or four hours, and then go in the Subway shop, get a sub, and sit and talk for another hour or two, with everyone that walks by.

I've almost decided that when I die, I want my viewing at WalMart, just inside the door. They are thinking of offering that as a service anyway, I heard. They have a bank now, want to have a medical office where you can see a doctor or a nurse, a low cost WalMart funeral service.

They already have an eye place, income tax, beauty shop. It won't be far off, when you can rent an apartment on the second floor at a WalMart. Won't even have to drive to get there, just take the elevator down and there you are, "one stop shop and live" I think they have considered calling it.

In some states they are considering putting the store on the second floor and the apartments on the ground floor. The thinking on that is that in the winter the heat from the apartments will rise, and the store will be nice and toasty, thanks to all them old folks in the apartments down below.

Old folks do their shopping there anyway, why not let them live there. Even going to have a geriatric hospital instead of the Subway shop.

Makes me feel bad

I have been trying to make a fortune doing surveys, like the ads say. I finally realized that in order to make any money, you have to either buy or enroll in everything they offer, spend a lot of money, and then you might make some yourself. The people who make the money taking surveys, are the people who run the surveys.

Many of the surveys, well, they really hurt my feelings.

I hit all the right buttons, the survey pops up on my screen, all excited, ready to take their survey and make $5. A couple hundred of these and I am in the BIG money, just like they say.

All the preliminary screens explain the survey, two or three windows pop up, and finally, a question.

Zip code where you live: 43055, next window.

Age:

I put in 75, end of the survey, try again , really makes me feel bad, I buy things too.

The FOURTH of July

Happy birthday to Bernie, first of all.

Rain predicted for the fireworks in Columbus, Ohio.

I have not enjoyed fireworks since I was in New York, for the BIG celebration, years ago.

I was with most of my kids, sitting on a parking lot in New Jersey, looking at the Hudson, and from our viewpoint, we saw fireworks all down the Hudson, it was spectacular, spoiled me for fireworks.

Tips on pumping gas

Tips on pumping gas:

Only buy or fill up your car or truck in the early morning when the ground temperature is still cold. Remember that all service stations have their storage tanks buried below ground. The colder the ground the more dense the gasoline, when it gets warmer gasoline expands, so buying in the afternoon or in the evening....your gallon is not exactly a gallon.

In the petroleum business, the specific gravity and the temperature of the gasoline, diesel and jet fuel, ethanol and other petroleum products plays an important role. A 1-degree rise in temperature is a big deal for this business. But the service stations do not have temperature compensation at the pumps.

When you're filling up do not squeeze the trigger of the nozzle to a fast mode. If you look you will see that the trigger has three (3)stages: low, middle, and high. In slow mode you should be pumping on low speed, thereby minimizing the vapors that are created while you are pumping. All hoses at the pump have a vapor return. If you are pumping on the fast rate, some other liquid that goes to your tank becomes vapor. Those vapors are being sucked up and back into the underground storage tank so you're getting less worth for your money.

One of the most important tips is to fill up when your gas tank is HALF FULL or HALF EMPTY. The reason for this is, the more gas you have in your tank the less air occupying its empty space. Gasoline evaporates faster than you can imagine. Gasoline storage tanks have an internal floating roof. This roof serves as zero clearance between the gas and the atmosphere, so it minimizes the evaporation.

Unlike service stations, here where I work, every truck that we load is temperature compensated so that every gallon is actually the exact amount.

Another reminder, if there is a gasoline truck pumping into the storage tanks when you stop to buy gas, DO NOT fill up--most likely the gasoline is being stirred up as the gas is being delivered, and you might pick up some of the dirt that normally settles on the bottom.

How did they live before cell phones?

I'm getting paranoid. EVERYONE, except me, drives and talks on their cell phone. Why is this? What did they do before cell phones? One right after the other today, busy intersection, making those left turns and talking on their phones.

I think that while in the office, too much is going on to make calls. In the car, nice and quiet, you remember people to call and chat with. I've had a couple of close calls with people on phones, not paying attention, driving with one hand, too many close calls.

And why is it too, that handicapped people have such nice cars? I can't help but notice when we go in to a store, the handicapped parking is nothing but luxury cars. Do they have the money to buy their way in to a hangy thing, or did they become handicapped, sue someone, and buy luxury cars.

There are rarely any "clunkers" in those spots. Even at Walmart, which, in general, does not get the richest clientele, has nice luxury cars in the old handicapped spots. Maybe they just have money and know the right people. I applied for one after my operation, they turned me down.

My car was not nice enough.

A late day comment

Bill and Barack are friends again, Barack and Hill are friends. What lengths we won't go to to acquire power. Politics is perhaps one of the filthiest, corrupt professions that we have today.

Think of those chilling looks that Hill used to throw at Obama, now, patting each other on the back, it really is disgusting to me. Brings back the old saying, "How low, can you go?" Hussein Obama is scraping the bottom, to me, he has hit an all time low in his career, selling his sole to the devil. 4 more months of this crap.

I still get emails from Hill wanting money to pay off her debt. Like I am worried about her debt, and she has all those millions in the bank, let her sell the silverware they took when they left office.

Charisma scares me. I have met two people in my life that had that hypnotic charisma, and they are frightening, if asked, you would follow them to the ends of the earth.

Glen Turner, of KOSKOT fame, the pyramid builder of all time, and L. Ron Hubbard, founder of Dianetics and the church of Scientology. They both emitted an electricity about them, and when you shook their hands, you were hooked.

I think old Hussein Obama has that same quality. From some comments Barack has made, I have a hunch he has read Dianetics and Scientology, and perhaps a bit of Mein Kampf. He obviously is well ready, charismatic, and unless a whole lot of folks do some long hard soul searching, the next President of the US.

"I am goin to vote for him cause he talks good," is tough to beat, he doesn't have to say anything, just talk, and politicians are so good at that.

Dooley Observed

Observations, commentary, opinions, will all be a part of this BLOG. Why Dooley Observed, simple, I am a Dooley. There are many Dooleys out there, will let them speak for themselves.

I am 75, so I can speak with some knowledge of those 75 years, 1932 till today, just think what all happened during those years. The changes, the history.

Brief tonight, I want to get this up and started, and I write much better in the AM, it is now PM.

So, please check back, hopefully, it will get a lot better.
