A Fourth of July, Independence Day parade float.
It apparently received mixed reactions from the crowd. I am not an Obama fan. I do feel I am a good American, and while not necessarily approving of the present office holder, I support the office, and I think I agree that this was in poor taste.
I receive many communications each day, in one form or another, much of which belittles the president, some amusing, some obviously made up, much of which goes in one ear and out the other. I have often stated that I would rather see POSITIVE comments and news of a candidate, rather than constantly sending out negative information, much of which is obviously only misleading or absolutely false.
In the Navy we always heard, "You are saluting the uniform, not the man wearing it."
When George Washington was standing in the bow of that boat, crossing the Delaware, Private Wesley Tolliver of the Pennsylvania 32nd Field Artillery, sitting in the stern of the boat stated, "I think he's nuts standing up there, he could fall overboard." All aboard agreed. Just one mans opinion.
Thomas Jefferson said in 1802: "I believe that banking institutions are more dangerous to our liberties than standing armies."
"The democracy will cease to exist when you take away from those who are willing to work and give to those who would not."-- Thomas Jefferson

"When once a job you have begun, do no stop till it is done. Whether the task be great or small, do it well, or not at all." .... Anon
